"Chinese Character" is a seductive word for every person who loves visual communication design.Countless designers place their exploration of artistic language and professional career on Chinese characters.Chinese characters are broad,mysterious and beautiful.From the perspective of cultural carriers,Chinese characters have a lofty position in China,which has a unique cultural system and inheritance context.They are regarded as the most appropriate carrier and visual symbol to disseminate the essence of Chinese traditional culture and the sacred symbol system to carry the history of Chinese civilization for thousands of years.Chinese characters are also the only font system that can be inherited and used uninterruptedly in the four ancient civilizations of ancient Egypt,ancient India,Babylon and China.From the perspective of the development and evolution of Chinese characters,the development of Chinese characters is flexible and innovative.It has experienced printing fonts such as pottery paintings,oracle bone inscriptions,bronze inscriptions,large seal scripts,small seal scripts,official scripts,regular scripts,cursive scripts and Song scripts,and then to modern computer-processed fonts.Each font has its own unique aesthetic feeling.It forms a unique system of art and science different from the West.The study of ancient Chinese characters is of great value to the dissemination of Chinese culture,the excavation of history and the addition of new impetus to design.There are rich and varied cultures in China.The development of Chinese characters has two main veins: Chinese characters and minority characters.The Chinese characters are divided into three stages: the ancient Chinese character stage,the Li script stage and the modern Chinese character stage.The so-called"ancient Chinese character" is not a clear and definite concept.It can be divided into broad sense and narrow sense.Generally speaking,it refers to all ancient Chinese characters appearing in the development history of Chinese characters,such as oracle bone inscriptions,bronze inscriptions,seal scripts,official scripts,regular scripts,running scripts,cursive scripts and so on.Here it issummarized as"seven-body Chinese characters" ;narrowly,it refers to Oracle Bone inscriptions,gold inscriptions,seal scripts Chinese character writing symbol system before the official script such as Wen and seal script.Chinese characters have undergone the process of emergence,perfection,development and evolution.While people enjoy the convenience of Chinese characters in social life,they are also interested in the Chinese characters themselves.Therefore,there are exploratory activities with Chinese characters as the object.Here,I will analyze and sort out the seven-character system of Chinese characters,explore the thinking of character-making contained in the seven-character system,deeply excavate the usable value of the seven-character system of Chinese characters,find out its similarities with modern font design,and serve to create better modern font design.
