| English learning in high school plays an important role in teaching in high school,which can troaden students’ knowledge and improve their cultural qualities.The problems of English reading teaching are those appearing in the process of English teaching To improve the quality of English reading teaching,solving the problems in English reading teaching is the aim of the school and teachers,which can largely enhance students’ level of using English and comprehensive language abilities,benefiting their development.Therefore,the process of reading teaching is of great importance.According to new curriculum standard,students are required to improve their ability and quantity of reading in a gesture to adapt to current requirements of new curriculum reform,making teachers keep practicing and exploring to enhance teaching quality of English reading teaching.However,in view of the present situation,English teachers’ teaching styles and levels of educational management differ from each other and students’ reading abilities fail to be improved largely,so the quality of reading teaching looks weak.From the analyses of recent research,the researches on quality problems mainly focus on the descriptions of superficial phenomena along with introductions of some teachers,in which case their researches are single.The thesis aims to innovate some research methods,combining interviews,observations and questionnaires.With the methods of qualitative researches,the quality problems of English reading teaching in high school and strategies of improving will be researchedThe thesis illustrates the contents based on the following four aspects.To begin with,it begins with the background and meaning of English reading teaching,gives the researches that have already been done,research ideas and research methods and defines relative concepts.Secondly,by means of the design of research which is mentioned,the author illustrates the research objectives,research problems,research methods and the design of questionnaires.Then,according to the recognition that the process of teaching and learning determines the quality of teaching,the thesis conducts class observations,interviews and questionnaires in M high school.Their present situation and problems during teaching and learning will be observed.Some reasons will be analyzed.For example,the guidance of the teacher doesn’t do function well,including single teaching methods,the lack of advanced teaching ideas and the ignorance of guidance after class.The problems appearing the students’ learning to read will be found,including lacking good habits of reading and correct reading strategies.Lastly,in the process of reading teaching and students’ learning,teaching methods,teaching ideas,the guidance after school reading habits,reading strategies and so on will be analyzed.According to the existing problems,some strategies will be put forward.Major status of the students will be founded and form the cooperation of the teachers and students,benefiting the teaching and learning.Accomplishing various teaching aims is necessary,such as feeling emotions,developing skills,learning strategies and raising awareness,nurturing the over-all development of students.It is necessary to set up scientific evaluative systems,carrying out the varieties of ways,contents and bodies to encourage students’confidence.Reasonably exploring and using various teaching resources advice in terms of English reading teaching is also an important measure to broaden students’ horizons in order to improve the development of the quality in English reading teaching in high school. |
