Research On The Adaptation Of Western Operas From The 1980s

The adaptation of Western drama into Chinese opera is just like the continuous integration,development and evolution of Chinese opera in the long history,which is a new development mode of Chinese opera under the new era of social change.Since 1911,it has been a hundred years since opera was adapted to Western drama.For various historical reasons,it was only in the 1980s that opera adapted to Western drama really entered the stage of rapid development of creation and performance.A large number of opera adapted to Western drama were made on the stage.This has become a relatively unique existence in many styles of modern opera,showing a relatively stable artistic level and artistic style with its own characteristics.This paper takes the adaptation of Western drama from the 1980s as the research object,trying to reconstruct the bridge between drama and contemporary society and new audiences through this new way of development of drama,so that the drama can radiate new vitality and vitality under the new historical background and better serve the modern society.This paper is divided into three chapters.In the first chapter of this paper,it is an overview of the adaptation of Western drama to Chinese opera since the 1980s.In this part,the author is based on the collection of 115 operas adapted from Western dramas after 1980.By analyzing the peak number of operas adapted to Western dramas in the past 40 years,this paper divides the development process of operas adapted to Western dramas in this historical stage,combs in detail the background of operas adapted to Western dramas in various historical stages,summarizes the development characteristics of the times,and restores the historical features of operas adapted to Western dramas since the 1980s.In the second chapter of this paper,the author analyses the characteristics of Western drama art adapted from opera by specific representative plays,and cognizes and analyses the performance of specific works of art in different periods from vertical space.In the third chapter of this paper,it is a summary of the methods of adapting Western drama to Chinese opera since the 1980s.The author will summarize from the aspects of repertoire selection,text adaptation and the fusion of performing arts.The author summarizes the experience of adapting western drama since 1980’s,ponders the significance of adapting western drama from the success or failure of adapting and the artistic value of dramas,cognizes the essence of Chinese opera art,affirms and reflects in time,corrects and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of modern opera innovation in time,and provides a possibility for the future development of Chinese opera.
