Liang Mo Entered The Northern Second Minister And His Literary Creation Research | | Posted on:2020-12-24 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:M H Wu | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2435330602950075 | Subject:Ancient Chinese literature | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | The Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties are divided into two periods,namely,the former Three Kingdoms period and the latter Three Kingdoms period.The former Three Kingdoms period is known as a period when Wei,Shu and Wu stands as major powers,while the latter Three Kingdoms period appear in the late southern and northern dynasties,referring to the confrontation between the three regimes of Liang(Chen),Eastern Wei(Northern Qi)and Western Wei(Northern Zhou).With the chaos of the social situation and the establishment of the hostile regimes,some of the subjects have thrown themselves into the camp of the enemy in order to save their lives orremain in detention while staying on missions.Such people are called "ErChen"."Er Chen who entered the North at the end of the Liang Regime" referred to the southerners who joined the northern regime and became officials after they had served as officials in the Liang Regime during a period started with Hou Jing Rebellion(548-552)and ended with the establishment of Chen Regime in 557.This paper aims to form a system of southerners who entered the North at the end of the Liang Regime and focuses on the complexity of division and contradiction showed by their personality and psychology.The paper also pays attention to the differences between their social roles and they themselves.By combining their mental state and literary creation at the same time,they will be given a more appropriate evaluation.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the paper consists of four chapters.Chapter I generalized the living environment and the state of southerners who entered the North in the late Liang dynasty.On the basis of defining the time limit of"the end of the Liang dynasty in the later Three Kingdoms",the political landscape in this period and the situation when southerners entered the North due to Hou Jing Rebellion and the fall of Jiangling regimewere summarized and discussed.Chapter II was Liang’s the academic group study on southerners who entered the North at the end of the Liang Regime.They were mainly divided into two groups,one group entered Northern Qi as represented by Yan Zhitui who,and the other group called"Jiang Ling(nowadays Jing Zhou,Hu Bei province)ErChen group" with Yu Xin and Wang Bao as representatives entered Northern Zhou.The author will carry on in-depth analysis and discussion on their experiences as officials in other regimes by studying their literary and cultural activities and interpret their rich psychological state and profound emotion.Chapter III described the literary creation of the southerners who entered the North at the end of the Liang Regime.This chapter clarified that most officials in ancient China had dual identities of both bureaucrats and literati.Tthey had a deep understanding of the fact that they were unable to break the external pressure of bowing to the enemy and had to turn inward to seek their own spiritual strength and obtain inner comfort through the moral consciousness of the subject under the autocratic system.Through the analysis of their literary creation,we can understand their nostalgia,their mentality of living in a strange land,their consciousness of historians,their shame and regret,their attachment to religion,their psychology of seclusion,their social concerns and how they feel when they contribute to the development of the regime.We can read their mixed spiritual world so as to feel the typical characteristics of social and individual complementarity.Chapter IV stated the evaluation on traditional subjects who served another regime when the original regime he served fell apart from the perspective of the Yi-Xia Views(a belief that China is superior to other nations in old times),loyalty to one’s king and moral integrity.Under the background of historical culture mechanism,the author will analyze he subjective motive and behavior of these subjects carefully to communicate with the reality and conduct subjective and appropriate evaluation on this special group.In a word,subjects who served another regime when the original regime he served fell apart were always criticized.The study on the group will not only supplement the study in this respect,but also deepen our understanding of the group.Besides,the study will also be meaningful and valuable for the analysis and perception of group’s literary creation. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | The end of the Liang Regime, betrayer, Mentality, Literary creation, Evaluation | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
