Research On Qufu Confucius Cultural Festival (1984-2004)

Commemorating Confucius is not just an activity,It carries more respect and inheritance of Confucius and traditional culture with Confucianism as the mainstream.After the reform and opening up,the "Confucius Cultural Festival" held in Qufu gave commemorating Confucius with modern value and significance.It was a transformation and sublimation based on the traditional commemoration of the birth of Confucius.At the same time,it has become a carrier to strengthen international cultural exchanges.The Confucius temple in qufu has a history and culture of more than two thousand years.In the long history,it has been praised by the rulers of the past dynasties,and has become the "important code of the country" of ancient Chinese society.The Confucius temple in qufu continued to worship Confucius until 1948.In1984,taking the opportunity of the unveiling of the restoration of Confucius as an opportunity,the commemoration of the birth of Confucius was held on August 27 th of the lunar calendar.Since then,this activity has become custom.In 2004,the government held the first memorial ceremony to commemorate Confucius since the founding of the People's Republic of China.It was the recognition of Confucius and Confucian culture from the national level and was known as the "Confucius sacrificial ceremony".In the new period,the connotation of Confucian temple sacrificial ceremony has changed,and the ceremony has been greatly simplified.In the process of the ritual performance,it has subtly strengthened cultural identity and communication.Relying on the long history of Confucius temple festival activities,the "Confucius Cultural Festival" is held with the commemoration of sages as its core,and it also integrates academic seminars,cultural tourism,and economic and trade cooperation.During the cultural festival,the commemoration of Confucius' birthday and academic seminars and the opening of the Confucius Academic Hall greatly promoted the process of Confucianism research.On the one hand,scholars have continued to deepen their research on Confucianism and Confucianism history,and the scope of research has also tended to be diversified;on the other hand,scholars have shifted their focus to thinking about the modern value of Confucianism,from Dialogue among civilizations,ethics,ecology,education and other aspects explain the modern value of Confucianism and its important role in the construction ofmodern civilization.In the 1990 s,the times gave the Confucius Cultural Festival a new mission: "Cultural stage,economic performance".While the government is holding a cultural festival,it creates an atmosphere for attracting investment and builds a bridge for economic and trade cooperation.Under such an environment,commodity exhibition and trade negotiation become an indispensable content of the cultural festival.Therefore,the cultural festival holds economic and trade negotiations every year Meeting,various promotion meetings,demonstration meetings,etc.With the progress of the times and the highlighting of the theme of the event,economic and trade activities have achieved remarkable results,and the government has gradually introduced market mechanisms to mobilize the enthusiasm of enterprises to participate.The Confucius Cultural Festival,as a platform and medium for attracting investment,effectively drives the adjustment of the industrial structure and economic development of the Qufu area.
