The cultural contact and exchange between China and Japan has a very long history since ancient times.After the defeat of the Sino Japanese War,the Qing government paid more attention to the absorption of foreign culture.At this time,when the Meiji Restoration and reform of Japan was successful,the Qing government regarded learning from Japan as an important way to save the nation.Therefore,the Qing government sent a large number of overseas students to study in the East,which led to a great upsurge of studying in Japan at that time.Among a large number of students studying in Japan,Gao Jianfu,Gao Qifeng and Chen Shuren,three overseas students from Guangdong Province,studied traditional painting with Ju Lian and Ju Chao in the early stage,combined the decorative features of Japanese painting and the distinctive features of realistic modeling of Western painting,and put forward the innovation theory of "compromise between China and the west,and integrate the ancient and the modern",so as to reform the traditional Chinese painting to imitate the old and conservative And created"Lingnan School of painting".Lingnan School of painting absorbed the techniques of Japanese painting and integrated the characteristics of Western realistic modeling.While focusing on sketching,the works are full of life atmosphere and spirit of change.The disciples of "Lingnan three heroes",such as Li Xiongcai and Guan Shanyue,have formed their own painting styles on the basis of the innovation tradition of "eclectic between China and the west,integrating the ancient and the modern",thus injecting a new force into the Chinese painting world from then on to the modern times,and making important contributions to the Anti Japanese War and the new socialist construction after the founding of new China.At the beginning of the 20th century,the three major schools of Chinese painting,which are mainly Beijing Tianjin painting school,Shanghai painting school and Lingnan painting School,stand at the same time.In the fourth chapter,the author makes a comparative study on the background,main painting thoughts and the style of landscape painting between Shanghai painting school and Lingnan painting school,so as to have a clearer understanding of the style of landscape painting of Lingnan painting school,which is of great significance and reference value for the localization of foreign culture.
