Research On Lai Shenru's Freehand Flower And Bird Painting

Lai shenru is a famous contemporary freehand flower-and-bird painter and a late associate professor of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute.He has made bold exploration and practice of freehand flower-and-bird painting and achieved fruitful results based on inheritance of the tradition.His freehand flower-and-bird painting works have distinctive personality,unique style and advanced "modern sense";Since the 1970 s to his death in 1983,He carried out a large number of artistic practices in freehand flowerand-bird painting.Meanwhile,he was good at expressing the natural beauty of the wild scenery and the fragrance of birds and flowers in the mountains.Based on the tradition and pursuing the new interest,he carried out bold and pioneering exploration and innovation in the form of the picture and the expression of the brush and ink,absorbed the organic integration of expression languages of other kinds of paintings and traditional Chinese painting to produce the flower-and-bird painting art with distinctive characteristics and strong appeal,enriched the expression form and aesthetic connotation of modern flower-and-bird painting art,which plays an important role in the development history of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute,Southwest China and even the whole China.Image analysis,interview,investigation and literature review are used to analyze and sort out Lai Shen’s freehand flower-and-bird painting style,formation reason,exploration practice and art life,so as to fully display and have a grasp of Lai Shen’s art and character;We see Mr.Lai shenru and his flower-and-bird painting art again from the perspective of the historical development of Chinese painting,which reconstructs the traditional art in the form of modernity,and creates a unique flower-and-bird painting that is in line with Chinese aesthetic habits,has a personal independence of conduct and a strong natural interest.He is a great pioneer of exploration and art in such a period when art is just reviving,sprouting and turning.The paper shows the style characteristics of Lai shenru’s flower-and-bird painting from three aspects: including the source of style,the exploration of brush and ink,and the creation of artistic atmosphere.The reasons why Lai shenru’s flower-and-bird painting art is based on the tradition and rich in the new ideas of the times,and why isstill popular and unsophisticated decades later are discussed.Lai shenru’s flower-and-bird painting are put into the 1970 s and 1980 s when the brush and ink are just in infancy in a specific environment to feel the unique vitality and appeal of its flower-and-bird painting art,and think about how its art practice can be used for reference to the development of contemporary Chinese painting art.
