Fu Shan is one of the representative calligraphers of the romantic style.Researched by studying Zhong Yao,"two-Wangs",learning Zhao Meng, after Jia-shen Event,he had begun to incline toward Yan Zhenqing. The choice of Yan by Fu Shan was related to his calligraphy and his national integrity. In the early years of the Qing dynasty, the worship of Dong and Zhao prevailed, presenting depression phenomenon. In view of the prevailing mood of the time,Fu Shan put forward the calligraphy aesthetic concept of " four must and four must not".Additionally the prosperity of inscriptions and visit tablets,Fu Shan’proposition had an important impact on the aesthetics and selection of calligraphy.Fu Shan was a man of national integrity who emphasized on moral character and put forward the proposition of " first person and then writing ".He thought the cultivation of the heart was very important, and paid attention to hard work and practice, had hoped to find the "word in the sky".He paid attention to the writing methods and techniques, and gave detailed explanations to the copybook of incoming and outgoing. Therefore, the artistic characteristics of Fu Shan’s cursive writing are very distinct, magnificent and imposing, and his personality and accomplishment have a great influence on later generations.Fu Shan calligraphy is the main object of my study and the main source of my cursive writing.First of all, this paper introduces the influence of Fu Shan’s family background and social style on the literary world in the late Ming dynasty.Fu Shan was born into a scholarly family and was influenced by his family, which laid the foundation for him to become an polymath. The late Ming dynasty was an important period in the history of Chinese literature. The change of times promoted the awakening of the pursuit of self-consciousness in the calligraphy circle and played an important role in the liberation of individuality.Secondly, this paper introduces the artistic characteristics of Fu Shan’s cursive writing, which had enriched his own artistic language and formed his own unique style through the changes ofpen, ink, composition and arrangement. In addition,I analyze the reasons for the formation of Fu Shan’s artistic style.Early on,he regarded Zhao Mengfu calligraphy, and turned to Yan Zhenqing. After his middle age,Fu Shan had paid attention to seal and clerical script and put forward many forceful ideas, which had an important influence on the formation of his calligraphy style. In his later years,he experienced the social turbulence and ups and downs of life.He had gotten a new understanding of "Lan Ting Xu"(Preface of the Orchid Pavilion)" and relearned it.Finally,I think about and sum up the influence of Fu Shan’s cursive script on my creation, his concept of "being a character before being a person"reminds me to maintain an independent personality and be an upright person. His opinion of "four must and four must not" keeps me a personality in the creation, not to drift. In the creation practice, the influence on Fu Shan’s creation of hanging scroll calligraphy and the emphasis on the seal and clerical script, the hard work and practice in the study, the method of entry and release of posts, all of these have given me great inspiration.
