In recent years, with the rapid development of digital technology, film and television dramas adapted from role-playing games have attracted great attention in the country as a new type of film and television dramas and have risen rapidly.Since the birth of the country’s first film and television drama "Legend of Sword and Fairy" adapted from role-playing games in 2005,it has triggered a fever of domestic game adaptation.Subsequently,it successfully launched the "Legend of Sword and Fairy" series,"Xuanyuan Sword" series, and "Swords of Legends" series of film and television dramas. This upsurge of game adaptation shows on the one hand that role-playing games have broad development space and prospects in film and television adaptation,on the other hand,it also shows that role-playing games can provide more narrative possibilities for film and television adaptation. This article focuses on the analysis of the narrative changes after the adaptation of these games into film and television dramas from the perspective of narratology, and the narrative influences they will bring.Thereby triggering the narrative development and reflection on the adaptation of role-playing games and movies. All of the above are important contents that this article focuses on and discusses. This article takes role-playing video games and film and television dramas as the main research objects. From the perspective of narratology,it studies the narrative relationship between the two and how the adapted film and television dramas cleverly combine traditional film and television narratives with emerging video game narratives. And successfully achieved a successful adaptation. The thesis research is divided into six parts for research: The first part is to understand the narrative development process of role-playing games, and summarize the unique narrative attributes of the game. The second part analyzes how role-playing games are integrated with film and television dramas under the cross-media narrative, aiming to illustrate the feasibility of the integration between the two.In the third, fourth, and fifth parts, according to Genette’s narrative theory, they compare the differences in narrative tenses, patterns, and voices between role-playing games and film and television dramas, and use specific Case analysis: What happened to the narrativeafter the game adaptation of the film and television drama, explore which game narratives can be learned and learned, and which game narratives can not be applied to the film and television drama,so as to explore the narrative for the game adaptation of the film and television drama Provide innovation and development methods and ideas. The sixth part, based on the above exploration of game adaptation of film and television dramas from the perspective of narratology, further thinking about the development direction and development value of adaptation dramas, and broadening the future development space of film and television dramas. With the continuous adaptation between role-playing games and television dramas, the problems in the fusion of narrative between games and film and television dramas have become increasingly prominent. How to effectively integrate the narrative transformation between the two to achieve better development requires careful analysis and comparison of the narrative characteristics of the two media,to find out what can be learned and used for the creation of future film and television dramas Provide more possibilities.
