Group Work Is Involved In Practical Research On Improving The Service Ability Of Elderly Volunteers In Urban Communities

Carrying out community voluntary service is not only an effective way to innovate grass-roots social governance,but also an important embodiment of improving citizens' civilized literacy and enhancing community residents' happiness.With the increasing aging of the population in our country,how to give full play to the hobbies and personal potential of the elderly,improve the living standard and quality of life of the elderly in their old age,and let the elderly gradually realize the goals of "having fun with the elderly" and "having a good job with the elderly" has become an important issue for the whole society to care about and think about.In order to practice the concept of active aging,considering the majority of the elderly in good health,more free time,adequate economic conditions,rich experience and other advantages.To enable the elderly to participate actively in voluntary service and contribute to society and the community can not only effectively relieve the pressure on society caused by the aging process,but also enrich the free time of retired elderly people and increase social identity.Therefore,active volunteer service for the elderly is an important way for the elderly to rebuild their retirement life and participate actively in society.Based on the field investigation in the X community,the author found that there are many problems in the course of carrying out the service of the elderly volunteers in the X community: the lack of basic skills of the elderly volunteer service,the lack of team cooperation and management ability of the elderly volunteers,and the urgent need to explore and cultivate the backbone of the elderly volunteers.Based on the above problems,the author combines the practice of X community volunteer service project for the elderly,based on the theory of professional social workers,through the use of group work professional methods and skills,with the goal of building the capacity of elderly volunteers to carry out research,so as to enhance the service capacity of elderly volunteers in X community.Addressing the weaknesses of the X community's capacity to volunteer for the elderly in the process of substantive intervention,The author designed and carried out seven group activities to enhance the communication and coordination ability,activity planningability,resource link ability,teamwork ability and volunteer service skills of elderly volunteers.At the same time,on the basis of carrying out practice,the author evaluates the process and effectiveness of group work intervention in many dimensions.The evaluation results show that group work intervention based on social work theory has a good effect on improving the ability of urban community volunteer service for the elderly.Finally,the author makes a professional reflection on the process of group work: first,the group work service coverage is limited,the later stage needs to incubate different groups and maintain the continuity of groups,so as to expand the group service coverage and establish different types of elderly volunteer service teams;second,the elderly volunteer service capacity enhancement is a long-term process,social workers need to constantly improve professional theoretical and practical skills;third,in order to better enhance community elderly volunteer service capacity,need to introduce social work professional methods and theories such as case and community.
