Research On Jinshan Public Transportation Problems And Countermeasures

Since the 21 st century,with the continuous development of the economy and society in China,the living standards of urban residents have been constantly raised.Hence,road trip has become a fashionable pursuit in tourist communications.The road trip group has been growing which gradually breaks the balance of ecological system of urban transportation,not only resulting in waste of public transportation resources,but also leading to plenty of problems such as road congestion,traffic accidents increasing,severe air pollution and energy consumption increasing and so on.These problems have increased traffic management cost in city management and also damaged the positive urban image.Especially in areas where rail transit has not yet constructed for transportation,buses have became the second or third choice for public travel since the public transport infrastructure fails to keep up with the rapid urban development.Confronted with this situation,people start to do reflections on solutions and measures to solve traffic problems.Cities in developed countries are the first ones to reveal such traffic problems.Therefore,scholars in foreign countries have reviewed the positioning and functions of public transportation with an attempt to recover the original ecological system of urban transportation by improving the efficiency of public transportation and reducing the proportion of road trips and achieve a win-win situation eventually.With regard to buses,several theories have been researched out such as the public bus fare mechanism and regulation on supply and demands,yet the application of those theories still failed to relieve the traffic problems fundamentally.With entering into the age of Internet,the popularization of scientific technologies such as informationalization,cloud storage,and big data has enabled many city managers began to manage the public transportation with smart management mode.Specifically,integrated emerging technologies including new generation of internet of things technology and cloud computing technology,such as bus signal priority,real-time road monitoring,arrival prompt services into traditional public transport management,which has substantially promoted the efficiency of public transportation and made achievements to a certain degree.Thereafter,some people's awareness to choose public transportation have been aroused,and the urban transportation environment has been further improved.Jin Shan,adjacent to Hangzhou Bay in the south,bordering Zhejiang in the west,enjoys exceptional advantage in geographic location,which lays the direction foundation for urban development in future.In May 2018,Shanghai Municipal Committee precisely determined the future development direction of Jinshan and proposed a strategic positioning of “Two Districts and One Bridgehead” which means to develop Jinshan as a “Bridgehead for Integrated development in the Yangtze River Delta”.Jinshan acts as the bond between Zhejiang and Shanghai City,the convenient and efficient public transportation provides an essential foundation to work better together.Therefore,It is of great significance to promote efficiency,create a comfortable and convenient atmosphere for public transportation and raise the profile of the city via studies on the current public transportation,analysis on the existing problems and solve the problems with smart management mode application.This paper contains six chapters.Starting with the actual situations of Jinshan,it introduces existing problems in the public transportation of Jinshan district and arrives at the function of smart management public transportation towards Jinshan.Then the smart management plan of public transportation in Jinshan is proposed and smart management platform to efficiently process public transportation data is established based on the successful cases and admissible experience gained from smart management of public transportation at home and abroad.In the end,to ensure the operation of the smart management platform in the following six aspects including setting up dedicated institutions,reinforcing infrastructure construction,ensuring finance and funds,training managerial talents,innovating technology application and enhancing security and prevention to solve the public transportation problems in Jinshan in an effective way.The author hopes to realize the smart management of the public transportation in Jinshan and thus provide theoretical exploration to the future development of similar urban public transportation nationwide.
