This article takes Malaysia's democratic transformation as its research object, which is mainly divided into two parts. The first part is based on the theory of democratic transformation, using the literature research method, case study method and comparative analysis method to sort out and analyze the process of political transformation in Malaysia. The first chapter reviews the theory of democratic transformation and related research on democratic transformation in Malaysia. The second chapter makes a detailed explanation and analysis of the process of democratic transformation in Malaysia, and analyzes the process of democratic transformation in Malaysia and then isolates the reasons for the democratic political transformation in Malaysia(Chapter 3);The second part mainly discusses the characteristics of democratic transformation in Malaysia,Existing practical problems and experience in a general sense. On the basis of detailed analysis and explanation of the process and reasons of Malaysia's political and democratic transformation in the first part,in the fourth chapter of this article,a comparative analysis of the case of Malaysia in the contemporary democratic political transformation of the entire world is carried out,and the Malaysian democratic transformation is refined specialty. In the fifth chapter,it analyzes a series of practical problems existing in the democratic transition of Malaysia, and finally summarizes and discusses the experiences of universal significance in the democratic transition of Malaysia. This article believes that the democratic transformation of Malaysia is the result of a long-term combination of various factors.Although Malaysia has long been under the authoritarian rule of UMNO(BN),a considerable number of democratic factors have accumulated within the authoritarian system.Within the authoritarian system, democracy has been developed to a higher level.Under authoritarian rule,Malaysia's economic and social development continues.According to Huntington's“political transition zone theory,” Malaysia actually has the objective conditions for democratic transition. At the same time, the long-term authoritarian rule of UMNO(BN)has also brought about various disadvantages. To make its legitimacy constantly shaken, and finally under the influence of various factors, the May 2018 general election in Malaysia was led by the 22-year-old former national leader Mahathir and the League of Hope victory over Prime Minister Najib The National Front(UMNO),which overthrows the ruling coalition that has been in power for 61 years since thefounding of the country, also ended the authoritarian rule of UMNO and achieved the classic meaning(party rotation is a symbol).Democratic transformation.A comparative analysis of the case of Malaysia in the contemporary democratic political transformation of the entire world can extract the characteristics of Malaysia ' s democratic transformation. For example, the transformation process is mild, full of gradualness, and the development of democratic politics before transformation has a high standard.2.The legal and compulsory transformation occurred in the system. However, despite the democratic transformation in Malaysia,it does not mean that Malaysia has successfully achieved democratization. Many of the practical problems within it affect its democratization process, and may even make Malaysia Go back to authoritarian rule. The lack of elite integration capabilities within various political groups in Malaysia, the inter-generational replacement crisis of political leadership has worsened the entire political ecology, making the political struggle fierce in Malaysia, whether before or after the transition, coupled with the political party politics in Malaysia is not mature enough and The problems of racial politics and other persistent diseases in real politics,so Malaysia faces many challenges after the democratic transition. For many contemporary transition countries, the case of Malaysia has a good reference value. For example,in the process of political development,it is necessary to cultivate and accumulate democratic political factors to improve the level of democracy, take the path of gradual and moderate democratic transformation, and the process of democratic transformation in modern multi-ethnic countries.China must attach great importance to internal ethnic political issues.
