Research On Chen Hengzhe's "Western History"

History textbook is a basic teaching book compiled with the history curriculum standards promulgate-d by the state and passed through examination.It is the most important teaching resource in history textbook system and plays a central role in history teaching where it presents the basic knowledge structure,ability training system,emotional attitude and value goal.Its function can not be replaced by any other auxiliary type of history textbooks.The Republic of China was the beginning of the century-long history of middle school history textbooks,and a number of excellent history textbooks emerged in this period.Even today,they are of great significance for reference.Among them,the History of the West written by Hung-che chen is a very distinctive and valuable one,which deserves our in-depth study.In this paper,the study of History of the West is divided into the following parts.The first chapter gives an overview of History of the West,including its background,author's life and the important position of this book.The second part explores the characteristics of the structure,content and language of History of the West.Firstly,the most impressive linguistic features of History of the West are analyzed in detail,including graceful writing,vivid and interesting writing,interesting narrative,and first-person perspective.Secondly,it shows the compilation style and structure of History of the West in order to have an overall understanding of the book.Finally,it makes a content and ideological analysis of History of the West,including opposing war,attaching importance to culture,paying attention to women and reflecting the global view of history.The third part mainly studies the value of History of the West.On the basis of the former part,it pays attention to the enlightenment of History of the West to the compilation of history textbooks in middle schools from the aspects of language,structure,content and more macroscopically.The author hopes that through the study of History of the West,the value of the book can be further explored,so as to provide some reference for the compilation of today's middle school history textbooks.
