White Mountain molybdenum mine,in Hami City,Xinjiang Tarim plate,located in Jueluotage Carboniferous island arc,autumn Geming Tash–Huangshan-Mirror's South East ductile shear zone.The main mining area exposed were Lower Carboniferous stem pier group(C1g)formation and Qhpl-al.The igneous rocks of the mining area exposed was granite,belonged to INDOSINIAN Indus Koizumi sequence(???51),which was grain,fine-grained biotite granite plagioclase and biotite plagioclase porphyry etc.The main structure of the mining area was parallel to each other to form a sub-level structural faults and fracture zones,which were affected by the Gandun faults.Baishan molybdenite mainly occur in the structural alteration zone between F3and F5,generally with a rock band of hornfels,while molybdenum is mainly present in feldspar-quartz veins that extremely developted.Molybdenum deposits within the White Mountain region was close to mine granite,granite in this area was calc-alkaline series,and was charactered by the whole low alkali content.REE patterns of right-wing type,L/H=3.65–7.48,LREE fractionation is moderate,generally with a europium(Eu)element of loss characteristics(?Eu=0.67–0.73).According to geochemistry,it can be indicated that the molybdenum mineralization may associate with INDOSINIAN acid magmatic hydrothermal activity,which related derivative,molybdenum was mainly origainated from the magma,due to the formation containing molybdenum,molybdenum was also from hot magma fluid transport processes in which molybdenum extraction.Therefore,the main source of minerals was from the magma,and also mixed with rock material.Magmatic water is the main ore–forming fluid,and the fluid mixed with a small amount of atmospheric water.Mine ore minerals are:pyrite,pyrrhotite,molybdenite,chalcopyrite,sphalerite,etc;gangue minerals:feldspar,quartz,biotite,chlorite,epidote,sericite,calcite,sphene,zircon,apatite,titanium white stone.The main structure of ore have leaf–shaped structure,he shaped granular structure,self–shaped granular structure,edge accountable structure,interstitial structure,crumpled structures.The main structure of the ore:vein–like structure,veinlets disseminated structure,mottled structure,stockwork structures,brecciated structure and so on.According to the mutual relations interspersed between various types of dikes,ore mineralogy,structure,wall rock alteration and mineralization characteristics of physical and chemical conditions analysis,the mineralization process can be divided as gas deposits divided into–hydrothermal stage,hot liquid phase and supergene period.The main types of ore alteration are:silicification,potassic,sericite,kaolinite,and actinolite,epidote petrochemical,chlorite,carbonate and so on.And silicification,potassic alteration and molybdenum mineralization relatively close relationship.According to the White Mountain deposit,which were associated with porphyry molybdenum deposit that was similar to geological characteristics,which included ore type deposits,ore fabrics,wall rock alteration,mineralization mechanism,metallogenic model,etc.,that defined Baishan molybdenum as"porphyry–quartz stockwork Molybdenum mine."Verified by drillings,and it was found that the deeper molybdenum ore body the thicker,and become rich trending.Therefore,White Mountain molybdenum mine had a signicicance in finding deep rock found bonanza for direct guidance,with good exploration prospects.
