With the development of science and technology and the further application of vacuum technology,vacuum containers develop toward the directions of large-scale,complication and diversification.Traditional design methods are unable to satisfied the design requirement of large and complex vacuums because of the low design efficiency.The finite element method(FEM)can analyze the structure by means of a computer,and solve the problems which are difficult to solve in some traditional design methods.It is of great significance to study the application of finite element method in vacuum vessel design.After the design of the vacuum containers based on the traditional design method,this paper uses ANSYS-Workbench to analyze the strength and stiffness of the structure,which can improve the design efficiency and reliability of large vacuum vessels.Firstly,this paper design and check the vacuum vessel based on the Vacuum Design Manual and Pressure Vessel(GB150-2011),and simplifies the structure to build the finite element model,and compare the stress and deformation of 3 kinds of different structure of vacuum vessel.And then analyze the relative deformation of the square flange before and after the vacuuming,which can provide reference for the sealing structure and sealing material selection of the flange surface.And then analyze the stability the vacuum vessel.The instability factor of the vacuum vessel is 13.7,which is greater than the safety factor standard of the domestic steel pressure vessel.The modal analysis of the vacuum vessel obtains the frequency and mode shape of the first 10 modes of the vacuum vessel,which can provide a reference for the application of related periodic loadsSecondly,in order to meet the requirements for the installation of different test equipment for vacuum vessel,a flat flange is designed as the head of the vacuum container.The flat flange is composited by DN5000mm turning to DN3000mm flange,DN3000mm turning to DN 1500mm flange,DN1500mm turning to DN500mm flange and DN500mm flange blind plate.And then analyze DN 1500mm turning to DN500mm flange and DN500mm flange blind plate using bonded contact on contact surface,bonded contact on gasket mapping surface,beam model instead of bolts and solid bolt model.The result show that the difference of stress peaks between 4 kinds of simulation methods,and the deformation results of the other three methods are similar except for the bonded contact on gasket mapping surface.The advantages and disadvantages are compared between 4 kinds of methods.And then analyze the strength and stiffness of the flat flanged using the bonded contact on contact surface.Finally,based on the calculation formula in the Vacuum Design Manual,the sealing groove for the sealing ring with a section diameter of 18mm is preliminarily designed.The stress and strain of the sealing ring and the contact pressure between the sealing ring and the flange are calculated.And then compared the calculation results of the sealing ring with the material fitted by different constitutive models.The sealing performance was evaluated when the sealing groove depth was 13.3mm while the width was 21.6mm,21mm,20mm and 19mm.And the sealing performance is evaluated under the sealing groove depth from 13mm to 9mm when the cross-sectional area of the sealing groove is 273mm2.The contact pressure between the sealing ring and the flange by changed with the depth of the sealing groove is obtained,which can give a reference in the selection of the sealing ring and the design of the seal groove...
