Chinese manufacturing enterprises are an important part of the national economy. In recent years, under the background of profound changes in chinese economic environment, there is an urgent need to adjust industrial policies, realize the transformation and upgrade of industrial enterprises, and consolidate the foundation for economic development. As an important indicator to measure the quality of economic growth and the effectiveness of capital allocation, how does total factor productivity change? Does the learning effect exist widely in manufacturing companies? Has the learning effect played a role in promoting the total factor productivity of Chinese manufacturing enterprises? What are the similarities and differences of this impact among companies with different technical characteristics? What is the mechanism of learning effect to promote enterprise's total factor productivity? There are the main question that this article attempts to explore and answer.According to the research path of theoretical analysis, model construction and empirical research, this paper selects the enterprise-level micro-database commonly used in economics at home and abroad in recent years—industrial enterprise database as a sample, systematically investigates the impact of learning effects on the total factor productivity of enterprises, and reveals the learning effect acts on the transmission mechanism of total factor productivity, trying to open up the "black box" of learning effect that affects total factor productivity. The main contents are:Firstly, clarify the research background, research purpose and significance of the topic, review the relevant literature on learning effects and total factor productivity at home and abroad, sort out theoretical assumptions related to the research framework of this article, and lay a theoretical foundation for the full text of the research.Secondly, considering that learning effects have the characteristics of annual changes,a s-curve learning effect model is constructed to measure the learning effect index of Chinese manufacturing enterprises, and the OP method and LP method are used to measure the total factor productivity of Chinese manufacturing enterprises in order to solve the possible problems in the measurement process. Finally, based on the micro data of manufacturing enterprises,on the basis of the measurement results of the learning effect index and total factor productivity,an econometric regression model is established for the proposed relationship hypothesis, and the proposed hypothesis is empirically tested through the panel data of sample enterprises. The research results show:(1)The learning effect has a significant promotion effect on the total factor productivity of an enterprise;(2)The greater the gap between the enterprise and the cutting-edge technology, the greater the promotion effect of the learning effect on the total factor productivity of the enterprise;(3)Organizational capital and labor quality are learning Both the effect and the total factor productivity of the enterprise have played a part of intermediary role, and part of the intermediary effect is significant. In order to further ensure the consistency and robustness of the research conclusions, considering the possible endogenous problems, three methods of changing the explained variable measurement method, using the one-period lagging explanatory variable and balancing panel data were used to conduct the robustness test, and the conclusions all showed consistency and robustness.
