Mineral resources are indispensable material basis for social development.China is a large country rich in mineral resources.The resources cannot meet the growing economic request due to the limitation of geographical location and technical conditions.The Ningwu basin is one of the major ore district in the middle and lower Yangtze metallogenic belt,characterized by the extensive development of Mesozoic volcanic rocks and iron deposits.The predecessors put forward the famous theory of "porphyrite iron deposit" by studying the diagenesis and mineralization in the area.The theory was supplemented by new discoveries of deposits in this area.The Longtangwan Iron prospecting area was in the Zhonggu Iron ore field,Ningwu basin.Geophysics and drilling were applied to prospect in this area.Two main iron bodies,both of which are produced in the Huangmaqing Formation silicified,keratinized sand,shale and diopside rock contact belts.I ore body is in the southeast of the deposit,ore body length 600 meters,width 200-400 meters,with an average thickness of 34.54 meters.II ore body is distributed in the northwestern part of the deposit,and the ore body length is 650 m,width 400-600 meters,thickness 6.81-79.08 meters,average thickness 34.54 meters.Other small ore bodies are produced in the wall rock in Huangmaqing Formation.The ore body is lenticular or lamellar.The mineralization is closely related to alteration as well as multi-stage.Ore fluid from high temperature to low temperature.The presence of zoned alteration from proximal dark-colored alteration zones to a more distal set of light colored alteration zones as well as the contact between intrusion and Triassic marlstone stratum rich in Ca/Mg controlled by anticline can be used to vector in to areas more prospective for mineral exploration.
