Furniture Design For Homestay Based On Regional Cultural Characteristics

Regional culture is a cultural tradition with a long history,unique characteristics,and still plays a role in inheritance.Architectural space,interior design and furniture display are important carriers of regional culture.Under the background of the vigorous development of cultural tourism industry,as a new type of the business,homestay plays an important role in inheriting regional culture.homestay can integrate regional culture into specific design through reasonable layout and careful design of material carriers such as architecture,interior and furniture,and create opportunities for tourists to experience regional culture through the presentation of living and behavior habits.Furniture related to people’s daily life,which is the most direct carrier to realize the expression of regional culture.Therefore,it is of great significance to design homestay furniture based on regional cultural characteristics.Based on the design of residential furniture with regional culture,this paper takes the design of residential furniture with Shanxi characteristics as the object of case study,accumulates study materials by means of on-the-spot investigation,questionnaire survey,data analysis,etc.,on this basis,interprets the regional culture,summarizes the main ideas of residential furniture design based on Regional Culture: first,according to customer demands and existing space conditions,analyze the rationality and problems of interior space,determine the types and functions of furniture to be designed;secondly,through careful observation and experience of local people’s daily life,find the inheritance and performance of regional culture in real life,especially summarize and extract the information elements related to furniture and furnishings,and use appropriate modeling,materials and techniques into furniture design,which presents regional cultural characteristics.Specifically,the paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter puts forward the central argument and research questions,and expounds the research background,significance,current situation,methods and other basic contents of this paper;the second chapter introduces the related concepts of homestay and homestay furniture,and leads to the influence of regional culture on homestay furniture and the reference value of jinzuo traditional furniture for the design ofmodern homestay furniture;the third chapter is mainly about the analysis of homestay furniture design needs survey and current design cases,taking the ancient city of Pingyao as the main research object,analyzed the tourists’ demands for the accommodation,summed up the existing problems of the furniture design of Pingyao accommodation;chapter four explored and summarized the strategies and methods of the furniture design based on the regional cultural characteristics from the three dimensions: function,shape and processing techniques;chapter five is the part of design practice,through the Jing’s Residence furniture design project to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of design strategies and methods.
