The Influence Of Clothing Design Elements In 1970s On Modern Clothing Design

The 1970s was a crazy and decadent era.The sub youth culture was quietly rising.The dramatic changes from politics to culture have broken the previous top-down dress norms.High fashion and street fashion coexist.In a real sense,clothing has entered an era of ready-made clothing.As the wheel of history rolls by,the material level of today’s society is constantly improving,people’s spiritual vacancy also needs to be filled more and more.In the 1970s,subculture explosion just hit people’s desire for the spiritual world,which also makes it become the current passion of many designers.Based on the research background of clothing in the 1970s,this paper summarizes the most representative clothing styles and design elements in this era by combing its culture.Then,on the basis of analyzing the influence of aesthetic orientation on modern design in the 1970s,this paper analyzes the popular trends of fashion show and clothing market in recent years,and summarizes two design methods:eclecticism,imitation and recovery on this basis,design practice is carried out to explore more possibilities of innovative application of design elements in modern clothing design in the 1970s.In the end,the author discusses the reasons why design elements returned to fashion in 1970s,and offer my own point of view the value of design elements for modern fashion design.
