With the development of forging industry,more and more forgings are produced towards the direction of less or no cutting precision forging.The rapid development of computer aided engineering makes its application in forging process design more and more mature.After process analysis and design of various process schemes,finite element analysis software is used to assist simulation.Then select the best scheme and optimize it,which can effectively reduce the cost of new product forging process design and shorten the development cycle.Based on the base product,this paper analyzes the base technology,designs two die forging process schemes,and it introduces the designing of the mold and the selection of equipment.The DEFORM simulation software is used to conduct finite element analysis on the two designed processes,and the deformation process of the two process schemes was visualized and the better one is selected.The process optimization of the selected process plan is mainly to optimize the mold structure and blanking weight.Through the finite element simulation analysis,it is determined that the optimized process can produce qualified forgings.The selected 25000 k N high-energy screw press was used for small-batch production verification.Through quality inspection of the produced forgings,it was confirmed that the designed process could produce qualified forgings,and the reliability of numerical prediction results of DEFORM simulation software was also verified.Through the study of this topic,the application of finite element analysis in die forging process design is promoted,especially the formulation of complex die forging process.It can minimize the cost of new product process designing,shorten the trial production cycle by using numerical simulation,it also can reduce the material consumption,improve the material utilization rate,optimize the mold structure,eliminate the forging defects,and obtain the optimal process parameters.The reliability of the simulation is verified by the small batch trial production of the optimized process,the reliability of the application of computer-aided engineering in the formulation of die forging process is proved,the application of finite element analysis in Dalian Locomotive and rolling stock Co.,Ltd.is promoted,which lays a foundation for the die forging process design and production of similar forgings.
