The Arctic region is becoming more and more important in global climate change.The world is increasingly keen on Arctic research and development and Arctic channel competition.In the face of more human intervention,the Arctic environmental impact assessment(EIA)as a tool to prevent environmental pollution and destruction should play its due role.This article is composed of three parts,there are introduction,main body and conclusion.The introduction mainly describes the problems faced by the Arctic environment and the legislative status quo of the EIA in the Arctic.Moreover,the method of cost-benefit analysis is introduced,which runs through the article to discuss the construction of follow-up system.The main body of the paper is discussed from three aspects.First is the overview of the Arctic environmental impact assessment system.Secondly,it explains the problems existing in the Arctic environmental impact assessment system.Thirdly is introducing how China should participate in the Arctic EIA and some opinions of China.The conclusion points out the significance of the EIA to the Arctic region and our country,as well as the future development and research direction of the Arctic environmental impact assessment system,making it play its due role.
