Research On The Production Technology Of Boshan Lacquer Furniture

As an important part of Chinese traditional furniture,lacquer furniture is the product of Chinese traditional culture.Boshan lacquer furniture appeared in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,reached its peak in the period of the Republic of China.Now,it presents a new trend of development.This paper takes Boshan lacquer furniture as the research object,takes its development context as the starting point,and studies the reasons for the prosperity of Boshan lacquer furniture.Since ancient times,Boshan occupies a superior geographical position,known as the "important town of central Shandong".As the wood distribution center in the central region of Shandong Province in the late Qing Dynasty,it has unique natural resources,developed economy and profound cultural heritage.Lacquer furniture flourished in this context,giving birth to a wealth of furniture types.Under different functions,the types of lacquer furniture are gradually refined,which can be divided into chair seat,reclining,table and table,storage and other categories.Boshan big bed,square table,yuankui chair,big box and small box are the representative furniture of Boshan,with exquisite decoration and exquisite craftsmanship,which are loved by hundred surnames.According to the types of decorative patterns,they can be divided into animal patterns,plant patterns,auspicious birds and auspicious animals patterns,and other patterns.According to the different aesthetic and use ways,decorative patterns are used for decoration.In terms of wood selection,catalpa,elm,toon and willow are mainly used for economic and practical purposes.In the production of Boshan lacquer furniture,the unique techniques of wearing palm and using swim bladder are also used as a major feature in the development.Based on the investigation and analysis of Boshan lacquer furniture,this paper explores the problems in the development of Boshan lacquer furniture from the types,patterns,materials and production techniques,and specifically analyzes how Boshan lacquer furniture should change its design thinking,carry out inheritance and innovation,open up the market,protect traditional techniques,and make the lacquer furniture return to people’s daily life.Combined with the cultural essence and furniture design principles of Boshan lacquer furniture,the design practice is carried out to produce daily lacquer furniture in line with modern life,which provides a theoretical basis for the inheritance and innovation of traditional folk skills.
