Research On Enamel Design With Maori Decorative Art Style

Enamel craft is one of the ancient metal decoration craftsmanship.By fusing enamel glaze to the surface of metal base tire,the effect of decorative beautification is achieved,thus creating colorful and imaginative artworks.In China,enamel craft is often similar to cloisonne,but in fact,the art language and expression form of enamel craft are very rich,it can express into different styles and themes.Based on the studies of Maori decorative art,this documentation analyzes and sums up the artistic features of sculpture art,tattoo art,weaving art and paua’s decorative art in its distinctive art style.All their representative visual elements,craft characteristics and material characteristics are included.On this basis,the author delves deeper into the combination of Maori decorative art style and enamel craft.After the research,the author realizes that enamel art has a long cultural history.In this modern society,both craft and design are constantly innovating.The development of science and technology gives enamel craft stronger malleability and better creativity,it is no longer limited to a certain style and era.In this documentation,thorough the three perspectives of material,craftsmanship and artistic language,the similarity and differences between Maori decorative art and enamel craft are analyzed.Besides that,by using the design results of enamel craft in other artistic styles as reference,the possibility and advantages of combination of the two are explored.At last,the design mood is explored from three aspects:the choice of pattern and color,the fusion of materials and the presentation of the overall style.
