According to the requirements of China National Standard GB-T 17395-2008 for seamless steel pipes,the outer diameter,wall thickness and other dimensions of the steel pipe should be thoroughly checked before leaving the factory.The pipe-end size is one of the important evaluation indicators for the quality of the steel pipe.On the one hand,the dimensional accuracy of the product can be guaranteed by measuring the pipe-end size.On the other hand,the measured results can be fed back to facilitates timely to adjust the relevant parameters of the pre-process to obtain a higher yield rate and save material costs.With the development of steel pipe technology and equipment,the speed of steel pipe production is faster and faster,and the demand for variety of specifications are increasing,so companies need more accurate and flexible equipment.Therefore,the research on the steel tube end measurement method and the high-speed,high precision online measurement system has a wide range of application prospects.The line laser displacement sensor is a non-contact precision measuring instrument.Using two sensors inclined at a certain angle to obtain the inner and outer wall contour data of the steel pipe end,then calculate the wall thickness,outer diameter,inner diameter,ovality and other quality indicators.Compared with the existing optical measurement method of steel pipe end,this method is not restricted by pipe end flash and steel pipe specifications,it has stronger adaptability and higher flexibility.In addition,a single-pair laser sensor rotation and multi-pair laser sensor array end size measurement methods are proposed,according to active measurement method and passive measurement method.Based on a single-pair laser sensor rotation method,a steel pipe end measurement system is designed,in which the steel pipe does not move,and the measuring device rotates.This system has high accuracy but low efficiency.Then,based on a multi-pair laser sensor array method,another steel pipe end measurement system is designed,in which the steel pipe runs straight,and the measurement device does not move.Compared with the previous one,this system has a faster speed and takes smaller space,however,the measurement accuracy is relatively low.Experiments have proved that both measurement systems can effectively measure steel pipes with an outer diameter of?42mm-?219mm,and the measurement accuracy basically meets the measurement requirements of the seamless steel pipe industry.
