Measurement of outer diameter is a significant aspect of geometrical measuring, currently measurement of outer diameter has reached a certain level, but for measurement of outer diameter with the state of motion, more easily deformed and smaller size, if we want to get higher precision, we must do further study.This paper is developde by College of Precision Instrument and Opto-eleectronics engineering and National Institute of Metrology P.R.China--" the Outer Diameter Automatic Measurement System of Precision coaxial inner conductor", the system is used as a equipment of national standard measuring. In the study, I search a large number of scientific literature, and analysis the situation and the maturity achieved of outer diameter measurement at home and abroad,and put forward the problems which shoud be solved in the study,the problems are automatic controling of the measurement process and improving of the system accuracy. In order to achieve higher measurement accuracy and to make measurement easier, this system is a measuring device with non-contact of coaxial inner conductor's outer diameter, can be able to do automatic measurement for outer diameter. This system is mainly used for high-Precision automatic measuring external diameter of the coaxial line. Basis of laser measuring instrument for diameter,we Configurat axial precision motion control devices which Include mainly stepper motors, encoders, and precision mechanical slide, and the instrument can automatically measurement. The software is completed with Visual C++6.0,and the softwore can control the system to run automatically and compelete data acquisition and processing.Firstly, the working principle of laser measuring instrument for diameter is analyzed, and after analyzing the testing requirements,the Automatic Measurement System of Precision Coaxial Connectors is formed. The hardware components of the system structure is designed. Through the coordination of motor, encoder and precision mechanical slide the system achieves a precise positioning and automatic measurement. The software is completed on the Visual C++6.0 software development platform, and the softwore can control the system to run automatically and complete experimental data acquisition and calibration.Finally, the outer diameter of 1.042mm,2.4mm,3.04mm three different samples are measured,and the repeatability experiment and stability experiment have been completed too. Experiments have proved that the accuracy and efficiency of this measurement system have been improved.,and the repeatability accuracy can be achieved to 0.21μm,and stability is good.
