| With the rapid development of our economy,the rapid consumption of natural resources and the continuous deterioration of the ecological environment,the environmental pollution situation in our country is still severe,even as the investment in environmental protection continues to increase,thereby restricting the sustainable development of the economy.In the context of energy conservation and emission reduction,the Chinese government has successively issued important guiding documents such as the “Overall Plan for the Reform of the Ecological Civilization System” and the“Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for Ecological Environmental Protection”,which are aimed at practicing ecological civilization and green development concepts.The fundamental requirements for promoting sustainable development and common prosperity.Therefore,while ensuring economic growth,it is important to clarify how environmental quality can be effectively improved.In view of the above situation,this article starts from the sustainable development theory and efficiency theory,explores the impact mechanism of environmental protection input efficiency on environmental quality,and evaluates environmental protection input efficiency and environmental quality,respectively.First,measure environmental protection input factors from three dimensions: capital input,technology input,and human input.Measure pollution treatment effects from three dimensions: industrial discharge treatment,domestic waste treatment,and natural ecological conditions.Build an environmental protection investment efficiency index system based on scale returns.The variable super-efficiency SBM model obtains the environmental protection input efficiency of 30 provinces in China’s mainland except Tibet.At the same time,the Xi’an Jiaotong University Index calculated by the Yuan team based on the improved horizontal and vertical pull-out method is used to measure the environmental quality of various provinces and cities.After comprehensively analyzing and evaluating environmental protection investment efficiency and environmental quality,and adding control variables such as economic development level,industrial structure,urbanization process,degree of opening up,and environmental policy effects,this article uses the OLS and 2SLS methods to empirically test the environmental protection input efficiency.Impact on environmental quality improvement,and analyze regional differences in the impact.Based on the mechanism of environmental protection input efficiency on environmental quality,the calculation and empirical analysis of the two,the results found that,first,China’s environmental protection input efficiency generally increased in 2006-2016,and the environmental protection input efficiency in different regions fluctuated greatly,The “N”-shaped growth that grows first,then declines,and then grows in stages,and the efficiency of environmental protection investment in different regions varies greatly,showing an increasing distribution pattern of “Middle-West-East”;second,between 2006 and 2016 The environmental quality of most areas in China is deteriorating,and the environmental quality conditions in different regions are also greatly different.The three major regions are gradually becoming “Middle-East-West” layout.Third,the improvement of the efficiency of environmental protection investment will help The improvement of environmental quality,and the impact of environmental protection input efficiency on environmental quality are different in the three regions,manifested as central |
