The relationship between human beings and nature has been interdependent and constrained throughout the ages.Marx and Engels, from the very beginning, based on the survival and development of human beings, penetrated into the pivot of the logic of capital and clarified the organic unity of human beings, nature and society. They were conscious of the fact that while human beings were immersed in the remarkable achievements of the industrial age,the beautiful living environment was in ruins and the ensuing alienation of the relationship between human beings and nature.Through the material transformation with nature, mankind effectively realized the production and practice activities and then transformed and used nature to advance the process of human development, but the ecological crisis also gradually spread from local to global and became a common concern of all countries in the world.By digging into the rich and diverse ecological ideas hidden in the classical works of Marx and Engels,we can find that Marx and Engels, with their unique insight, identified the main root of ecological problems as the mode of production under the capital system, which not only destroys the constant harmony of material transformation between man and nature, but also deprives man of the possibility and reality of dialectical unity with nature and society. Therefore, the ideal social form to achieve harmonious ecological development and solve ecological problems is to aspire to a communist society. The study of Marx and Engels’ ecological view is the ecological proposition that connects all countries in the world to such harmonious practices to build a community with a shared future for mankind, which is of great value and far-reaching significance for the realization of sustainable development in the world today.Apart from the introduction and conclusion, the text is divided into four chapters. The first chapter mainly composes the ideological resources of Marx and Engels’ ecological view, analyzes and explores the ideological works that condensed Marx and Engels’ views and summarizes the emergence of Marx and Engels’ ecological view in three stages: germination, formation and development; The second chapter elaborates the main contents of Marx and Engels’ ecological view based on their discourse on the dialectical relationship between man and nature on the basis of practice, the extended theoretical form and the basic features shown, which are also the concrete embodiment of Marx and Engels’ ecological view.Continuously rereading Marx’s and Engels’ discourse on man and nature, the vitality of their ecological view is revealed time and time again, its scientific character demonstrating the limitations of the capital system and finally brewing an ecological society that meets the requirements of the development of the times. The third chapter analyzes and judges the ecological theories of Marx and Engels’ ecological view and eco-Marxism,mainly comparing the similarities and differences from four points of view: the purpose, methods, contents, and values and limitations of the subjects, highlighting the advanced and scientific character of Marx and Engels’ ecological view, and alerting us to the need to continuously enrich and develop Marx and Engels’ ecological view with the inspiration of eco-Marxism.The final chapter affirms the contemporary value of Marx and Engels’ ecological view based on the ecological crisis facing contemporary mankind, and indicates the ideas to get out of the ecological dilemma for human survival and new era of a beautiful China: socialism with Chinese characteristics should be firmly established, the unity of sustainable development and comprehensive and coordinated development be adhered to,the internationalization of ecological governance as well as Xi Jinping’s Chinese wisdom on ecological governance. |
