With the development of the times,human beings have entered the era of experience economy.The richness of the material world makes people pay more attention to spiritual enjoyment,and user experience is more and more valued by users.Synaesthesia design,as a means to effectively improve user experience,has become one of the current research hotspots,By fusing and translating the sensory information obtained by people when using the product,it can bring users multi-dimensional sensory experience,and make users have deeper communication with the product,so that users can not only accurately know the information to be transmitted by the product,but also meet their own physiological and psychological needs.Through literature analysis,this paper combs the relevant basic theories of synaesthesia design,summarizes the translation conditions of synaesthesia design,and combined with the actual case analysis of synaesthesia product design,makes it clear that synaesthesia design helps to broaden users’ access to information,enrich users’ interactive behavior,arouse users’ emotional memory,and improve users’ sensory experience;On the basis of olfactory related research,from the perspectives of generation basis,translation method and application path of synaesthesia,this paper puts forward a synaesthesia design strategy based on olfactory,which is user research-based,Behavior Optimization Oriented,material relevance as clues,feature of evoking symbolic Association and key of space enhancement,And choose the household food freshness reminder in kitchen daily products for synaesthesia design innovation.In this study,olfaction is used as the intrinsic sense for design research.Through exploring the user needs,the intrinsic sense and synesthesia are analyzed,and the visual materials and olfactory materials of this design practice are obtained.The innovative synaesthesia design scheme of household food freshness reminder is completed after the material information is interrelated,and the design practice is verified by user experience evaluation and triangular fuzzy comprehensive evaluation.This study further enriches the research of synaesthesia design by studying the olfactory which has not been focused on in previous synaesthesia design,and verifies the effectiveness of the research through design practice,and puts forward a new design path for the development and innovation of olfactory in product synaesthesia design.
