| The development of ancient Chinese alchemy was closely related to many traditional Chinese cultural contents,such as Taoist thought,Chinese philosophy,traditional Chinese medicine,Chinese literature,etc.It was also disseminated to the West,which enriched the content of Western alchemy,and the alchemy was of great significance to the emergence of modern chemical science.Gunpowder,which sprouted from alchemical experiments,also gave a great impetus to the progress of Western and even world history.There has been no shortage of brilliant scholars both at home and abroad who have conducted research on the history of alchemy,which is difficult to separate from religion,Chinese medicine,and ancient Chinese philosophy due to the diversity of content contained in alchemy itself and the disorder of the contents of the canonical texts.Shanxi scholar Meng Naichang has specialized in the history of ancient Chinese alchemy,and the author of this research collects his research results on the chemical history of alchemy to investigate and study,covering Meng Naichang’s research on important alchemical drugs such as Qiu Shi,niter,and Jin Ye,his research on several different ancient methods of the process of alchemy,his research on the origin and theory of gunpowder,his chemical viewed research on an ancient book called Zhouyi Can Tong Qi,and his research on the whole Chinese alchemy.In this paper,Meng Nai-chang’s researches of the development of ancient Chinese alchemy as a whole are an attempt to combine these contents in a technical way and the author want to conclude Meng’s professional research of Chinese alchemy from the perspective of the history of chemistry.In addition,this paper also collected more Meng’s research on ancient fermentation and alcohol technology and traditional Chinese medicine,which made the research content more abundantMeng Naichang’s research on the history of chemistry is professional,always focusing on finding the classical chemical forms of his research object,which can provide important reference values for the researches on the history of chemistry and the history of science. |
