Study On The Impact Of Industrial Agglomeration On Environmental Pollution And Ecological Efficiency

As an important engine of economic development,industrial agglomeration is an important reason for continuously improving the level of sustained economic growth in our country,and it is also a key way to enhance regional competitiveness.However,the development of industrial agglomeration is often accompanied by excessive consumption of resources and excessive discharge of industrial pollutants,which seriously affects the level of sustainable industrial development,weakens the carrying capacity of environmental resources,and causes frequent occurrence of various environmental disasters.Therefore,it is of great significance to analyze the impact of industrial agglomeration on environmental pollution and ecological efficiency,and to explore a new model of coordinated and healthy development of industrial agglomeration and ecological environment,and to provide a certain theoretical basis for the sustainable development of industrial agglomeration.In order to explore the impact of industrial agglomeration on the environment more comprehensively,this paper incorporates environmental pollution and ecoefficiency into the scope of the study.Using panel data from 2007 to 2017 in 31 provinces and cities across the country,this paper analyzes the impact of industrial agglomeration in the country from both theoretical and empirical the impact of environmental pollution and ecological efficiency.In the theoretical analysis part,according to the research conclusions of the existing literature,the influence mechanism of industrial agglomeration on environmental pollution and ecological efficiency is obtained,including the level of industrial agglomeration,the industrial structure of industrial agglomeration areas,and the technological level of the agglomeration areas.Based on the theory of economic externalities,it is concluded that the relationship between industrial agglomeration and environmental pollution is similar to the environmental Kuznets curve.From the perspective of circular economy,the impact mechanism of industrial agglomeration on ecological efficiency is analyzed,and the sustainable ecological development model is analyzed.In the empirical analysis part,firstly,the industrial agglomeration index is constructed through the location entropy method,the ecological efficiency index is constructed through the EBM model,and the two indicators are measured and analyzed.It is found that the industrial agglomeration and ecological efficiency show a trend of high in the East and low in the West.Then,through the analysis of the scatter plots of industrial agglomeration and the three types of pollution and ecological efficiency,it is found that the environmental effects of industrial agglomeration have regional heterogeneity.Most provinces and cities in the eastern region have crossed the "inflection point" and have begun to produce positive external effects.And some central and western provinces and cities are still on the left side of the “turning point” of agglomeration.Finally,through the LM,Hausman,and LR tests,the spatial Dubin model is determined,and the MLE is used to estimate the spatial Dubin model.From the estimation results,it can be seen that innovation ability,environmental control intensity,foreign direct investment,etc.will have a positive effect on the level of ecological efficiency.The industrial structure will have a negative impact.Specialized agglomeration and co-agglomeration can produce significant pollution reduction effects.Through theoretical and empirical analysis,this paper concludes that the industrial agglomeration of each region should be combined with its own situation,choose the appropriate agglomeration mode,give full play to the positive effects of various factors,and avoid the negative effects,so as to reduce pollution,improve ecological efficiency,and achieve the coordination and unity of economic benefits and environmental benefits.
