The report of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly put forward for the first time the goal of accelerating the construction of an agricultural power, releasing a strong signal of heavy agriculture and strengthening agriculture. As the saying goes, the people is the foundation of a state and when the foundation is solid the state enjoys tranquility. The high-quality development of the agricultural economy is the "ballast stone" for maintaining national food security. The Yangtze River Delta region is the region with the largest population density and the most active rural reform in China, and its highquality integrated development of agriculture has played a leading demonstration effect on the construction of ecological agriculture in China. This paper takes 26 cities in the Yangtze River Delta central city cluster as the research area, takes agriculture in a narrow sense as the research object, and focuses on the issues of agricultural eco-efficiency measurement, spatial differentiation and its influencing factors.Firstly,we scientifically construct the evaluation index system of agricultural eco-efficiency in the Yangtze River Delta central city cluster, measure and decompose the agricultural eco-efficiency of each city by using EBM model combined with GML index, depict the time-series changes of agricultural eco-efficiency from both static and dynamic perspectives, and sort out the operation law of agricultural green economy.Secondly,we analyze the dynamic evolution of agricultural eco-efficiency in two dimensions: time and space through convergence, spatial convergence, kernel density function, spatial Markov chain and trend surface analysis. Finally,we construct an index system of agricultural eco-efficiency influencing factors based on the dual perspective of "nature-socio-economics",analyze the characteristics of the role of natural location factors by using a geographic detector, and establish a Spatial Durbin Model to explore the influence of socio-economic factors.Based on the above research process, there are three main research conclusions:(1)There are obvious regional differences in agricultural ecological efficiency, and technological progress helps the green development of agriculture. The overall static agricultural ecological efficiency level of the Yangtze River Delta has steadily improved, and the dynamic agricultural ecological efficiency level has shown an "M" shaped fluctuation trend for a long time.Green technology progress is the main driver of agroecological efficiency growth.(2)Agroecological efficiency shows spatial agglomeration, and regional differences exist for a long time. The convergence analysis shows that there are conditional spatial convergence and positive spatial spillover effects in agricultural ecological efficiency.Kernel density analysis showed that the regional differences in agricultural ecological efficiency underwent a change from intensification of two-level differentiation to gradual reduction of differences. The analysis of spatial Markov chain shows that static agricultural ecological efficiency considering spatial lag factors has a high probability of maintaining its own stability,it is more difficult to occur class transition, the stability of dynamic agricultural ecological efficiency is weak, and it has a trend of crossborder transformation, and the phenomena of "beggar-thy-neighbor" and "neighbor-byneighbor" are prominent.(3)The results of geographic detectors showed that natural location factors had interaction on agricultural ecological efficiency and most of the types were nonlinear enhancements, and agriculture,as a weak industry, was sensitive to climate change. The empirical results of the spatial Dubin model show that among the socioeconomic factors, agricultural production capacity and economic development level are the key driving forces to promote the improvement of agricultural ecological efficiency.Problems such as the imbalance of farmers’ income structure, insufficient financial support for agriculture, and backward agricultural infrastructure hinder the improvement of agricultural ecological efficiency. In summary, this paper puts forward the following policy recommendations:(1)focus on improving quality and efficiency, and transform the agricultural development mode.(2)Strengthen communication and cooperation, and promote regional integrated development.(3)Strengthen top-level design and improve the efficiency of agriculture-related funds.(4)Support agriculture with science and technology, and empower green agricultural development.
