Research On The Ecofeminism Thought Of Merchant

Since the 1970 s,due to the global economic development and the advancement of the third scientific and technological revolution,the ecological problems have become more and more serious than in the past,causing the dissatisfaction and protest of female groups,so the eco feminist movement has developed rapidly as a branch of the environmental movement.As a representative figure in the field of ecofeminism,Merchant’s thoughts have not only promoted the discussion of environmental issues,but also made great contributions to women’s ecological protection activities.Therefore,it is of great significance to study Merchant’s ecofeminism thoughts.This paper intends to study her thoughts deeply and find out the values and methodology contained therein,so as to better promote China’s ecological construction and women’s liberation.This paper is divided into four parts to study the connotation of ecological feminism and Its Enlightenment to China’s ecological construction and women’s liberation.The first part:introduction.This paper expounds the purpose and significance of the research on the ecofeminism of Merchant,discusses the research status of domestic and foreign scholars on the thoughts and works of Merchant,and lists the research methods of this paper.The second part studies the background and theoretical source of the ecofeminism thought of Merchant.At the end of the 19 th century women’s liberation movement and the ecological movement in the 20 th century,the two sports not only make Merchant,understands the role of women in the ecological environment protection,also let her deep attention to the connection between the two,provided the backdrop for her ideas,in addition to this deformity and repression under the capitalist economic development,making women’s participation in ecological protection is imminent.Ecological feminism as the integration of ecology and feminist thoughts,not only will both thought sum,but set up on the basis of the two on the innovation and development,and Merchant’s thoughts are deep ecology,ecocentrism,ecological view of marxism,liberalism feminism,socialist feminism thought and so on,in this era background and other disciplines theory under the premise of thought source,Merchant integration,innovation and development of forming a set of unique ecological feminist ideology of their own,for many scholars research on women and the ecological problem provides a new perspective.The third part deeply studies Merchant’s eco-feminist thought.She changes to natural image metaphors suggest women oppressed,through mechanistic worldview replace organic world view suggests that this view of harness natural accelerated the death of nature,warned us to fear of respecting nature,and also borrow bacon type program presents a critique of capitalist patriarchy,advocate calls for the return of the organic world view,and then proposes need a harmony between nature and the new environmental ethics relations,namely the ethical relationships between partners.The fourth part studies the enlightenment of Merchant’s eco-feminist thought to China’s ecological construction and women’s liberation.For women’s liberation,on the one hand,it is conducive to break the shackles of patriarchy,promote social equity,enhance the role of women in ecological protection,call on everyone to pay attention to women,nature and marginalized groups;on the other hand,it is conducive to the combination of ecological construction and socialist system,change the mode of economic growth,reflect on the old concept of development,and cultivate human and nature Harmonious ethical partnership.At the same time,it dialectically discusses the limitations of the ecofeminism thought,that is,the strong color of Utopia and the neglect of the positive influence of the mechanistic world view.
