In the context of the revival of traditional culture in the new era,the continuous development of cultural and creative industries can not only spread the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation,but also promote the high-quality development of our economy.The emerging cultural and creative industries also bring broad development opportunities for the cultural and creative product design industry.It is especially important to develop and utilize traditional cultural resources and enhance the gold content of cultural and creative product design under the current situation,which is significant to inherit traditional culture,improve national cultural identity and people’s self-confidence,and promote sustainable economic development.Blue and white porcelain with a long history is an prominent part of traditional Chinese culture.The popular blue and white porcelain of past dynasties presents a rich social folk culture and spiritual connotation,with unique artistic charm and folk cultural characteristics.Therefore,combining the folk art of blue and white porcelain with cultural and creative products makes its inheritance and innovation possible and gives it a new vigor and vitality.Through the introduction of semiotic theory and the classification and characteristics of blue-and-white porcelain folk art,this paper clarifies the feasibility of researching the application of blue-and-white porcelain folk art in the design of cultural and creative products based on semiotic theory.Based on the analysis of the elements of blue-and-white porcelain folk art using semiotic theory,the composition features of blue-and-white porcelain folk art symbols are analyzed in terms of semiotics,semantics and pragmatics.And thus clarified that the design principles of "freehand drawing" and "unity of truth,goodness and beauty" should be followed in the design concept of cultural and creative products based on folk art symbols of blue and white porcelain,and proposed the design methods of "direct reference","abstract to simplicity","reverse transformation","metaphor" and "innovative intention".From the perspective of semiotics,discussing the design of cultural and creative products based on blue and white porcelain folk art symbols not only has a unique role in the rise of China’s ceramic cultural and creative industry,but also has practical significance for the inheritance and development of Chinese traditional culture.
