| Objectives: To observe the correlation between serum matrix Gla protein(MGP)and bone mineral density, serum bone turnover markers(PINP,β-CTX)and bone ultrastructure in postmenopausal women, and to investigate the direct influence of MGP protein on bone turnover and bone quality in the pathogenesis of postmenopausal osteoporosis. Methods: 1.128 female patients were enrolled in the research, who underwent physical examination and treatment in outpatient department and inpatient department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from March 2018 to February 2019.According to the subjects were menopausal or not and the guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of primary osteoporosis(2017 edition),groups were divided to normal premenopausal bone mass, normal postmenopausal bone mass, postmenopasual osteopenia, postmenopausal osteoporosis.2.The serum samples of clinical patients were collected and the serum MGP,β-CTX and PINP levels were determined by ELISA.3.To collect of lumbar vertebral bone tissue specimens from patients undergoing clinical surgery, and micro-CT examination of lumbar vertebral bone ultrastructure.Results:1.The serum MGP level in group C was 1.19 times higher than that in group PMN(P < 0.001),1.38 times higher than that in group PML(P < 0.001),1.69 times higher than that in group PMOP(P < 0.001),1.16 times higher than that in group PML and PMOP(P < 0.001)and 1.42 times higher than that in other groups(P< 0.001).2.Serum MGP was positively correlated with lumbar bone mineral density.3.Serum PINP and β-CTX levels in group PML and group PMOP were significantly higher than those in group C and group PMN,the difference was statistically significant.4.Serum MGP was negatively correlated with serum PINP and β-CTX.5.The comparison of the parameters of the lumbar spine by micro-CT showed that BMD in group C was significantly increased, about 1.36 times than that in group PML(P < 0.05),1.34 times than that in group PMOP(P < 0.05);BV/TV in group C was 1.16 times higher than that in group PMN(P < 0.01),1.26 times higher than thatin group PMOP(P < 0.001);Tb.Th in group C was 1.27 times higher than that in group PMOP(P < 0.05),1.51 times higher than that in group PMOP(P < 0.001);Tb.N in group C was 1.48 times higher than that in group PMN(P < 0.01(P < 0.05),which was 2.3 times higher than that of PMOP group(P < 0.001).6.Serum MGP was positively correlated with the parameters of lumbar micro-CT: BMD,BV/TV,Tb.Th and Tb.N.Conclusion: In postmenopausal women, the serum MGP was positively correlated with bone mineral density and all the parameters of bone ultrastructure, and negatively correlated with serum bone turnover markers PINP and β-CTX). |
