Objective:To evaluate the gastric emptying(GE)of healthy volunteers in the right supine position after drinking the same volume of different caloric fluids,so as to provide a reference for fasting water before surgery. Methods:Thirty healthy volunteers aged 20 to 30 were selected, with a male to female ratio of 1:1.Body mass index(BMI)17-30kg/m2.Excluding diabetes,Crohn’s disease, abdominal disease, pregnancy, etc.According to the guidelines on fasting and drinking before general anesthesia, fast water for at least 8 hours. The same volunteer ingested one liquid every day and ingested 200mL of five liquids(water;5%glucose;carbonated drinks;14%glucose 195mL+water 5mL;soy milk),calories were 0;53kcal;53kcal;94kcal;94kcal.Test in five days. And accept the same ultrasound examination.Ultrasonography is performed on the right side. The five fluids were tested on fasting(Tm),immediately after drinking(T0),20 minutes after drinking(T1),40 minutes after drinking(T2),60 minutes after drinking(T3),80 minutes after drinking(T4),Cross-sectional area of gastric antrum(CSA)at 100 minutes after drinking(T5)and 120 minutes after drinking(T6).Calculate the gastric volume(GV)according to the formula and observe the gastric emptying.Visual analog score(VAS)was used to assess the degree of thirst and anxiety in each time period.Results:(1)After ingesting different fluids, there was no statistically significant difference in the mean of CSA and GV between the groups at Tm,T0,T4,T5,and T6(P>0.05).The highest value is reached at T0.The water group returned to the reference value at time T2,the 5%glucose group and the carbonated beverage group returned to the reference value at time T3,and the 14%glucose group and the soy milk group returned to the reference value at time T4.There was no statistically significant difference between the 5%glucose group and the carbonated beverage group at each time point(P>0.05);there was no statistically significant difference between the 14%glucose group and the soy milk group at each time point(P>0.05).(2)The average gastric emptying time of water(38.54 ± 3.01min),the average gastric emptying time of 5%glucose(59.86 ± 2.44min),the average gastric emptying time of carbonated drinks(59.14± 2.23min),the average of 14%glucose Gastric emptying time(80.34 ± 1.73min),soy milk mean gastric emptying time(80.53 ±1.47min)the difference in gastric emptying time of the five liquids was statistically significant(P<0.05).(3)The index of thirst and anxiety in each group at TO was significantly less than Tm(P<0.05);the index of thirst and anxiety in T1-T6 was significantly greater than that at T0(P<0.05).Among them,14%glucose thirst and anxiety index were significantly lower than the other four groups, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:(1)The evacuation speed of the liquid mainly depends on the heat, not the composition difference. The gastric emptying time of the solution with the same heat is the same.(2)200ml liquid can be drunk 2 hours before operation to increase comfort. The liquid rich in carbohydrate has the best effect.
