The working age population accounts for a large proportion in our country, which provides rich labor supply for China’s economic development, and its healthy human capital level is the basis for individuals to play all social roles. It is of great practical significance to combine the two to explore the changes of healthy human capital of working age population in China. With the help of body mass index and self-rated health, this thesis measures the level of health human capital from objective and subjective dimensions, and uses the Age-Period-Cohort model to separate the absolute changes of health human capital of working age population in three dimensions of age, period and cohort, and analyzes its change trend in different populations. The conclusions are as follows:First of all,BMI of working age population has age and cohort effect, but no period effect. In terms of age effect,BMI of working age population presents an inverted U-shaped distribution with age growth, which can be divided into three stages:the first stage is 16-40 years old,and the BMI value increases significantly from 20 to 24,but it has been in the normal weight range;the second stage is 40-50 years old, with BMI gradually breaking through 24,reaching the peak, and entering the overweight ranks. The third stage is 50-60 years old,and the BMI value is slightly lower than that of the previous stage, floating around 24,and maintained at a relatively stable level. In terms of cohort effect, the BMI value of individuals which were born after the middle and late 1960s gradually decreased, and the "post-90s"generation had the lowest BMI value since the founding of new China.Secondly, there is a cohort difference in BMI between the working age population and gender. In terms of gender, the BMI value of men is generally higher than that of women, and with the birth date of cohort approaching, the difference of BMI value between men and women in the cohort dimension showed a downward trend and then an upward trend. In terms of household registration, the BMI of the city’s working age population is generally higher than that of the rural population. With the birth cohort approaching, the BMI difference between urban and rural individuals is also declining first and then rising. The difference between urban and rural BMI in the 50-80 generation of twentieth Century is relatively small. In addition, the self-rated health of working age population has age and cohort effect, but no period effect. The self-rated health level of youth is higher than that of middle age.In the aspect of cohort effect, the cohort effect of early born individuals is larger. The highest level of self-rated health is the individuals born in the 1950s and 1960s.After 1970s,the self-rated health level of individuals born in a three-step decline, each stage lasts about 10 years, and the self-rated health level of the birth cohort at the end of the 20th century is the lowest. Finally, there is a cohort difference in the self rated health level of the working age population in terms of marriage and household registration. In terms of marriage, the self-rated health level of working age population in marriage is higher than that of non married individuals, and the cohort difference of self-rated health between married and non married individuals shows a downward trend at first and then upward trend.Registered residence, the city’s working age population self-rated health level is higher than the rural population, and the difference between the urban and rural individuals’ self-rated health level first narrowed and then expanded, the difference of the urban and rural self-rated health level in twentieth Century 50-80 was relatively small.
