Objective: To explore the clinical and pathological characteristics of colorectal polyps and colorectal cancer and their correlation with Helicobacter pylori(Hp)infection.Method: A total of 460 patients in Anhui Province were collected from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from July 2018 to September2020,and were divided into colorectal polyps, colorectal cancer and normal controls. The location, size, quantity, pathological type of colorectal polyps and the location, size, stage, pathological type and Hp infection of colorectal cancer were analyzed retrospectively.Result: Hp infection rates in colorectal polyps and colorectal cancer were 50.4% and58.2%,which were higher than those in normal control group(35.3%),and the difference was statistically significant(p < 0.05).Moreover,the Hp infection rate of recurrent patients in polyp group was higher than that of initial patients, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).254 patients with colorectal polyps were divided into subgroups according to different locations, sizes, numbers and pathological types, and there was no significant difference in Hp infection rate among the subgroups(P > 0.05).Among 56 patients with colorectal cancer, there was no significant difference in different sites, sizes, stages and pathological types of Hp infection(P > 0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that age,sex and Hp infection were independent risk factors for colorectal polyps and colorectal cancer. Conclusion: Hp infection increases the risk of colorectal polyps and colorectal cancer, and is an independent risk factor for colorectal polyps and colorectal cancer. However,Hp infection is not related to the location, size, number and pathological type of colorectal polyps, and has nothing to do with the location, size, stage and pathological type of colorectal cancer.
