Research Progress On Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation For Early Breast Cancer After Breast-conserving Therapy

For early breast cancer after breast-conserving,Whole Breast Radiation Therapy(WBRT)is the standard treatment,which can effectively reduce the tumor recurrence.Due to the fact that most recurrence occurs in the vicinity of the tumor bed,accelerated partial breast irradiation(APBI)has attracted attention as a special radiotherapy that only irradiates a limited volume of tissue around the primary tumor bed.In recent years,a number of randomized controlled researches demonstrated its safety and effectiveness which is feasible for low-risk postoperative patients.In this article,various techniques,research progress and applicable people of APBI are mainly introduced.
