Background:As a common disease affecting human health,chronic constipation has a global prevalence rate of about 12%-17%[1].Acc ording to the survey,the prevalence rate of constipation in China can n ot be underestimated,reaching 3%-11%[2].The proportion of elderly pa tients with constipation is higher than that of the general population,up to 15%-20%[3].Chronic constipation is perplexing people’s life and h ealth.In recent years,the research on the clinical and mechanism of ref ractory constipation has made some new progress,but there are many i nfluencing factors,complicated pathological mechanisms and more diffic ult treatment.Up to now,there is little research data about the current regulation and diagnosis and treatment of refractory constipation in the medical field,and the treatment of refractory constipation has become a n urgent problem to be solved in the field of digestive diseases.Objective:To explore the clinical characteristics,diagnosis and trea tment plan and follow-up of refractory constipation,improve the early d iagnosis and treatment rate,treatment level and follow-up awareness,an d improve the quality of life of patients.Methods:The clinical manifestations,diagnosis and treatment of 3patients with refractory constipation were analyzed retrospectively.Conclusion:Generally,chronic constipation which lasts more than one year and is ineffective in conventional drug treatment is called refra ctory constipation.To understand the pathophysiological pathogenesis of refractory constipation,we should select valuable examination methods,t ake patients as the center,deeply understand the psychological factors o f patients,establish good doctor-patient communication,make a clear dia gnosis,and reasonably choose the appropriate treatment plan It is more important to improve the curative effect.
