Objectives To analyze the pathological types and epidemiological characteristics of1720 patients underwent renal biopsy in the Department of Nephrology of Hebei General Hospital from 2011 to 2019.Methods 1720 patients underwent kidney biopsy from 1st January 2011 to 31 st December 2019 in Hebei General Hospital were enrolled in this study. The clinic pathological date and the changing spectrum were analyzed according to gender, age, time of renal biopsy, clinical and pathological features. The distribution and variation of pathological types,as well as the relationship between clinical and pathological were analysized. Results A total of 1720 cases of patients who underwent renal biopsy were enrolled in this study. In all the cases, the most of which were primary glomerulonephritis, with a total of 1471 cases, accounting for 85.52%.Membranous nephropathy(MN)and IgA nephropathy(IgAN)were the most common primary glomerular disease, with composition ratio of 64.79% and 15.36% respectively.A total of 195 cases were secondary glomerular disease, accounting for 11.34%,diabetic glomerulonephropathy(DG)and lupus nephritis(LN)were the most common secondary glomerular disease, with composition ratio of35.38% and 34.87% respectively.2 The mean age at the time of renal biopsy of 1720 patients was 45.88±15.63 years(6-83 years).Among them, the mean male age and female age was 46.26±15.53 years(6-81 years)and 45.39±15.74 years(10-83 years)respectively. There was no significant difference in average age between males and females(P>0.05).3Among the 1720 renal biopsy patients,969 were male(56.34%)and 751 were female(43.66%),The male to female ratio was 1.29:1.The proportion of male patients at all ages was higher than that of the female patients.4 In the past 9 years, the proportion of patients with MN in primary glomerulonephritis had increased while the proportion of patients with IgAN had decreased, the differences were all statistical significant. The composition ratio of DG showed an increasing trend, while the composition ratio of LN showed a decreasing trend, there was statistically significant difference in DG(P<0.01).5 The common clinical manifestations of 1720 renal biopsy patients were nephrotic syndrome(1161 cases,67.50%)and chronic glomerulonephritis(447 cases,25.99%).The most common clinical manifestation of MN was nephrotic syndrome(779 cases,81.74%),for IgA nephropathy was chronic glomerulonephritis(143 cases,63.27%).Conclusions 1 The average age of patients undergoing renal biopsy has a trend of increasing.2 The majority of renal biopsy patients were 45 to 59 years old and the proportion of males in all age groups was higher than that of females.3 The most common type of kidney disease is primary glomerular disease.MN is the main pathological type of primary glomerular disease and the composition ratio increased year by year.4 DG is the main pathological type of secondary glomerular disease. The composition ratio of DG shows an upward trend while LN showed a downward trend in the past 9 years.5 The most common clinical manifestations of renal biopsy patients are nephrotic syndrome and chronic glomerulonephritis. The most common clinical manifestation of MN is nephrotic syndrome and the most common clinical manifestation of IgAN is chronic glomerulonephritis. The pathological types and clinical manifestations of renal biopsy patients do not correspond one to one.Figure 20;Table 22;Reference 61...
