Study On The Service Model Of Community Home-Based Care For Seniors Grounded On Integration Of Medical Care And Pension

The elderly are important members of the family,community and society.From the perspective of the life course,it is also the life stage that every individual must pass.The concerns about the elderly related to all individuals and the entire human society,and can be found in all historical periods.In the tide of the aging population all over the world,there are several characteristics of China’s aging situation make the situation facing China even more severe,such as the imbalance of the gender,of urban,and rural,as well as the mismatch between asset and age.Moreover,with the social reality of aging,disability,empty nesting,and declining births,the health of the elderly at home is more problematic,which calls the demand for specialized health care and medical services more desperately.Nowadays,China’s social pension service system is facing severe challenges.There exists a long-term situation of “ separation of medical care and pension”,which has led to a mismatch between the supply and demand of health care services.As a results,the urgent need for health care services such as disease prevention,medical diagnosis and treatment,rehabilitation care and hospice care are hard to be satisfied.This study,closely related to the two main research concerns of “integration of medical care and pension” and “community home-based care ”,is based on the theory of community care and welfare pluralism.Through deeply research of the TY community in Wuhan with field visits,observations,interviews research methods,this study further extracts the operating mechanism,characteristics and exiting problems of community home-based care service model grounded on integration of medical care and pension.As the conclusion,this study,with the discussion of the literature analysis and case study,finally comes out further optimizing suggestion from the family,community and nation levels.
