Objective:In this study,we evaluated the effects of Continuous care in NSCLC patients suffering from Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor-Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor(EGFR-TKI)drugs associated rashes on quality of life.Several clinical items including negative emotions of the patients and the improve situation of the rashes were used as the endpoints. We aimed to satisfy the patients and their relatives with the basic requirements of nursing knowledge, and to investigate a formal, scientific and propagable follow-up nursing model, and further increase the self-administration ability of NSCLC patients and to improve quality of life. Methods:The NSCLC patients suffering from different degrees of rashes after receiving the treatment with Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor-Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor(EGFR-TKI)drugs were eligible for this study.Patients were recruited from the first and second departments of a third class a hospital during November 2017 to May 2019.The patients were randomly allocated into two groups, the intervention group(34 patients)and the matched control group(34 patients). Both group received regular guidance following discharge, joined wechat group and phone call follow-up every 2 weeks. If any discomfort was noticed during follow-up,they would be reminded of a return visit in the hospital as needed.Additionally, the patients in the intervention group were instructed to pay attention to the "Health by the side" official account. The official account provided various knowledge about health and nursing, including instructions on drugs-taking,life guidance,self-administration and sports performance.Use wechat to discuss in group and give guidance to dermatologists and psychologists in time. The official account pushes each theme weekend to use the video one by one to ask questions and answers.Meanwhile,on the 10th and 30th day after discharge,a reminder for a return visit was delivered.Face-to-face problem-solving and assesmenting were conducted when they have any problems about the treatment.EORTCQLQ-C30 questionnaire,SDS and SAS scale were employed to investigate quality of life and negative emotions at baseline and at the end of 3 months after the intervention.Statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS(IBM).A two-tailed P value of less than 0.05 was regarded to indicate statistical significance.Chi-square test,t test, and Kruskal-Wallis test were used as appropriate.Results:1.There were no difference in age, occupation, education and rash classes at baseline between the two groups.(P>0.05)2.The scores of emotional function, cognitive function, social function and overall health in the functional area were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Scores of insomnia in the symptom area were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).3.Negative emotions, anxiety and depression scores in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).4.The overall improvement rate of rash in continuous care group was 86.67%,which is significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.05).Conclusions:Compared to general care, continuous care makes nursing education more convenient in NSCLC patients suffering from EGFR-TKI drugs associated rashes. And the negative emotions of patients are decreased and quality of life are significantly improved.
