The Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Dysmenorrhea Due To Endometriosis Using The Buccal Acupuncture

ObjectiveThe purpose of this study is to observe the effect of on treating dysmenorrhea using the buccal acupuncture in patients with endometriosis by assessing the difference before and after of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),dysmenorrhea efficacy,the Assessment of Reliability and Validity of Persian Version of the Endometriosis Health Profile(EHP-30),the blood level of CA125,and gynecological check,research the basic prescription of buccal acupuncture for endometriosis,evaluate the treatment effect and security of buccal acupuncture,thus find a new way to treat dysmenorrhea and develop clinical specifications in endometriosis.MethodsThis study used before and after treatment of self-control methods and selected patients who meet the criteria to treat by buccal acupuncture for three menstrual cycles and then finish the follow-up survey for three menstrual cycles.Before and after the treatment,we leted the patients to finish the VAS and EHP-30,test the blood level of CA125 and check the pelvic cavity and then we assessed the dysmenorrhea efficacy according to the change of VAS.Last we used the statistical method to evaluate the difference before and after treatment.Results1.forty-seven dysmenorrhea patients in endometriosis were cured by buccal acupuncture for three menstrual cycle.The results about dysmenorrhea efficacy are as follows:2 patients were cured,9 patients were excellent,27 patients were effective,9 cases were ineffective,the more significant rate:23.4%,the total efficiency:80.9%.The results about follow-up survey are as follow:1 patient was cured,25 patients were excellent,18 patients were effective,3 cases were ineffective,the more significant rate:55.3%,the total efficiency:93.6%.It shows that the buccal acupuncture can effectively relieve the symptoms of dysmenorrhea and gives play to the long-term treatment effect.2.After the treatment,the VAS scores was fallen compared with the pretreatment level with statistical significance(P<0.05).The VAS scores afer the follow-up survey still descended parallel with the pretreatment level with statistical significance(P<0.05).It shows that the buccal acupuncture can effectively lower the score of VAS and maintain the curative effect.3.After the treatment,the blood level of CA125 had not statistical significance(P>0.05)compared with the pretreatment level.The influence of buccal acupuncture on the blood level of CA125 was not obvious considering it was related to the small sample size.4.After the treatment,the EHP-30,including pain management,everyday life,emotional impact,social support,self-image,views on work,parent-child relationship,sexual experience,pharmaceuticals industry,therapy felt and infertility view had statistical significance(P<0.05)compared with the pretreatment level.It shows that the buccal acupuncture can enhance the quality of life for endometriosis.5.After the treatment,the pelvic cavity had statistical significance(P<0.05)compared with the pretreatment level,showing that it could play a role for endometriosis.ConclusionAfter the three menstrual cycles treatment,the buccal acupuncture can effectively relieve the pain symptoms in endometriosis patients and reduce the scores of VAS,with a good long-term effect in clinical application to the symptoms and scores of dysmenorrhea.In addition,the acupuncture plays a significan t role in improving survival quality and the cases of pelvic,while makes no effect in the blood level of CA125.The correlation with small sample size is not excluded about the blood level of CA125.
