Objective: By observing the clinical efficacy of modified Chaihu Guizhi Longgu Muli Decoction in treating depression-related insomnia, the effectiveness and adverse reactions of classical prescriptions in relieving such insomnia are explored, and the clinical medication ideas are expanded. Methods: Sixty-six patients who met the diagnostic criteria were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. The treatment group was given modified Chaihu Guizhi Longgu Muli Decoction, while the other group was given paroxetine hydrochloride tablets(Leyou)as control group. The treatment course of both groups was 6 weeks. After the course of treatment, the clinical efficacy and safety of the drug were determined by observing the scores of Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD-17),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),Chinese Medicine Stagnation of Liver and Fire Syndrome Score Scale and Adverse Reaction Scale before and after treatment.SPSS 21.0 software was used to analyze the data of the two groups.Result: In clinical observation,6 patients suffered from poor compliance and loss of connection, which led to the shedding of cases.60 cases were finally selected, including 30 cases in the treatment group and 30 cases in the control group. After 6 weeks of treatment observation, the scores of HAMD and PSQI scales in both groups decreased significantly. The total effective rates of the treatment group and the control group for insomnia were 93.33% and 86.67%respectively,and the total effective rates for TCM symptoms were 96.66% and73.33% respectively. The total clinical effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05).The score of symptom score scale for liver depression and fire syndrome was significantly different between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05),and the treatment group was superior to the control group. After treatment, there were significant differences in burnout, constipation and sexual dysfunction between the two groups(P<0.05).The treatment group was better than the control group. No obvious adverse events occurred during the treatment, and the curative effect and safety are exact. Conclusion: The modified Chaihu Guizhi Longgu Muli Decoction has a definite clinical effect in treating depression-related insomnia, which can obviously relieve subjective symptoms of patients, reduce depressive mood, improve sleep efficiency, have no obvious side effects, relieve pain of patients and improve quality of life.
