Objective: To provide objective imaging basis for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of cerebral alveolar echinococcosis and brain metastases by using the ESWAN technique.Methods: Twenty patients with cerebral alveolar echinococcosis and 20 patients with brain metastases who met the inclusion criteria were examined by MRI plain scan,enhanced scan and ESWAN examination.The ESWAN related parameters and ITSS scores in the regions of interest of cerebral alveolar echinococcosis and brain metastases were measured and statistically compared,and ROC analysis was performed on the ESWAN parameters in the parenchymal regions of the two lesions.Results :(1)Compared with the contralateral normal area,the phase value,T2* value and R2* value in the parenchyma area of cerebral alveolar echinococcosis lesions were P <0.05.Compared with the edema area,the phase value,R2* value and T2* value of parenchyma area were P < 0.05.Compared with the contralateral normal area,the phase value,R2* value and T2* value of the edema area were P < 0.05.(2)Compared with the contralateral normal area,the phase value and R2* value of the focal parenchyma of brain metastases were P < 0.05.Compared with the edema area,the phase value and R2*value of parenchyma area were P < 0.05.Compared with the contralateral normal area,the phase value of the edema area was P < 0.05.(3)The ITSS scores of both were P <0.05.Comparison of related parameters in parenchymal region: phase value,R2* value and T2* value of cerebral alveolar echinococcosis and brain metastases P <0.05.Comparison of parameters related to edema: phase value and R2* value between cerebral alveolar echinococcosis and brain metastases P < 0.05.Conclusion: The ESWAN technique can be used to quantitatively analyze the internal components of cerebral alveolar echinococcosis and brain metastases,and the diagnostic efficiency of phase value and T2* value is better,which provides more objective imaging basis for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of the two lesions.
