| Objective: To study the chemical constituents from the ethyl acetate extraction part and petroleum ether extraction part of the dried calyces and fruits of Physalis alkekengi L.var.franchetii(Mast)Makino,as well as the evaluation of the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities of the isolates.Method: Column chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography and other separation techniques were applied to isolate and purify the chemical constituents from the ethyl acetate extraction part and petroleum ether extraction part of the dried calyces and fruits of Physalis alkekengi L.var.franchetii(Mast)Makino.Their structures were identified by NMR spectroscopic analysis and comparison with the known compounds. The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities of the isolates were evaluated by the inhibitory activity of NO production and NAD(P)H:(quinone reductase)QR inducing activity. Results: Fifteen compounds were isolated and identified from ethyl acetate extraction part and petroleum ether extraction part of the 90% ethanol extract of Physalis alkekengi L.var.franchetii(Mast)Makino,including four flavonoids: luteolin-7-O-glucoside(1),luteolin(4),rhamnazin-3-O-glucopyranoside(7),luteolin-4′-O-glucoside(15);three alkaloids: 3-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-N-(4-methylphenyl)-2-propenamide(2),neoechinulin A(3),feruloyltyramine(9);three steroids: physalin D(5),physalin X(8),daucosterol(10);four aliphatic compounds: n-tetracosane(11),dibutyl phthalate(12),bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate(13),5-hydroxymethylfuroic acid(14);one terpenoid: blumenol A(6).The inhibitory activity of NO production and QR inducing activity of compounds 1-9,14,15 were evaluated. As a result, compounds 1,2,4 and 15 showed significant inhibition of NO production;compounds 2-4 exhibited significant QR inducing activity. Conclusions: Compounds 2,3,7 were isolated from the genus Physalis for the first time.Compounds 2 and 4 showed potential dual inhibitory effects on inflammation and oxidative stress. |
