Objective: This study aims to explore the correlation between the levels of Brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)and chronic kidney disease(CKD)patients with different TCM syndromes,to explore whether serum BNP may be an objective indicator of TCM syndromes of CKD,and to further study the TCM syndrome differentiation of chronic kidney diseaseMethods: 150 CKD patients who met the criteria of Western medicine diagnosis and TCM syndrome differentiation and had complete clinical data were selected as observation group while 30 people who were in good health according to the health examination in Guangxi university of Chinese medicine affiliated hospital kidney internal medicine Hospital were selected as control group during March 2018 to November 2018.All of these 180 were collected and classified according to syndrome differentiation by the TCM physicians who have got the title of chief physician or deputy chief physician syndrome integral evaluation. The observation group was divided into two groups according to TCM syndromes: the primary syndrome group and the secondary syndrome group.collect clinical data and cardiac color doppler ultrasound data such as LVEDD and LVEF.The clinical data and serum BNP levels of the two groups were collected to clarify the relationship between serum BNP levels and TCM syndromes.Results:(1)There were significant differences in LVEDD between Yin-Yang deficiency syndrome group and control group(P<0.05).In the aspect of LVEF level, when comparing control group with Qi-Yin deficiency syndrome group,liver-kidney Yin deficiency syndrome group and Yin-Yang deficiency syndrome group respectively, the differences were statistically significant.(P<0.05).There were significant differences in serum BNP levels among different syndromes(P<0.05).(2)There was no significant difference in LVEDD and LVEF between different TCM syndromes of CKD(P>0.05);the serum BNP levels of each group were compared, and there was significant difference between Yin-Yang deficiency syndrome and other groups(P<0.05).(3)Compared with the control group, the difference of blood stasis syndrome in LVEDD was significant(P<0.05);the difference of blood stasis syndrome and Ni Du syndrome in LVEF was significant(P<0.05);compared with the control group, the difference of serum BNP level among different syndrome types was significant(P<0.05).(4)There was no significant difference in LVEDD and LVEF between different TCM syndrome types of CKD(P>0.05).The serum BNP levels of each group were compared. There were significant differences in blood stasis syndrome,Ni Du syndrome and other groups(P<0.05).(5)The correlation between each TCM syndrome and BNP was analyzed. There was a positive correlation between Yin-Yang deficiency syndrome and BNP(r >0,P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in the remaining syndromes(P>0.05).(6)The result of analysis on correlation between each TCM syndrome and BNP shows that Blood stasis syndrome,Ni Du syndrome and BNP were positively correlated(r>0,P<0.05),while the remaining syndrome types had no statistical significance(P>0.05).The correlation between TCM syndromes and LVEDD,LVEF was not significant,either(P>0.05).Conclusion:(1)There is no significant correlation between TCM syndromes of CKD and LVEDD or LVEF.(2)TCM syndrome of CKD is strongly related to serum BNP level. In the primary syndrome,Yin-Yang deficiency syndrome has the strongest relationship with serum BNP level while in the secondary syndrome, both of blood stasis syndrome and Ni Du syndrome have the strongest relationship with it.(3)The examination of serum BNP may serve as a reference for TCM syndrome differentiation and CKD’s classification.
