ObjectiveTo observe and compare the clinical efficacy of modified Mackenzie therapy combined with acupuncture at Baliao acupoint and the current conventional comprehensive treatment of lumbar disc herniation,so as to provide a new treatment method and idea for optimizing the current conventional comprehensive treatment of lumbar disc herniation, and to lay the foundation for the next step of evidence-based medicine research.MethodsUsing the method of simple randomization,60 patients with lumbar disc herniation were randomly divided into treatment group(n=30)and control group(n=30).The treatment group was treated with modified Mackenzie therapy combined with acupuncture at Baliao acupoint, while the control group was treated with oral diclofenac sodium sustained release tablets, infrared irradiation and traditional Chinese medicine package therapy. The treatment group was treated once every other day for 4 times. The control group was treated once a day for 7 times. The course of treatment in both groups was 7 days.Statistical methods were used to analyze the differences of visual analogy scale score(VAS score),JOA score of low back pain and overall curative effect between the two groups before treatment, after the first treatment and after the course of treatment.Results1 There was no significant difference in sex ratio, age, course of disease,VAS score before treatment and JOA score of low back pain before treatment between the treatment group and the control group(P>0.05).2 Compared with the control group, the VAS scores of the patients in the treatment group decreased significantly after the first treatment and after the end of the course of treatment(P<0.01).After the first treatment and the end of the course of treatment, the VAS scores of the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.01),and the VAS scores of the two groups after the first treatment were significantly lower than those after the first treatment(P<0.01).3 Compared with the control group, the JOA score of low back pain in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group after the first treatment and after the course of treatment(P<0.01).After the first treatment and the end of the course of treatment, the JOA score of low back pain in the two groups was significantly higher than that before treatment(P<0.01),and the JOA score of low back pain in the two groups was significantly higher than that after the first treatment(P<0.01).4 After the end of the course of treatment, according to statistics, the total effective rate of the treatment group(96.7%)was higher than that of the control group(86.7%).The clinical curative effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was significant(P<0.01).ConclusionModified Mackenzie therapy combined with acupuncture at Baliao acupoint and conventional comprehensive treatment can effectively treat lumbar disc herniation, which can take effect after the first treatment, and with the increase of the number of treatments, the therapeutic effect is further improved than that after the first treatment. However, the first therapeutic effect of modified Mackenzie therapy combined with acupuncture at Baliao acupoint is better than that of conventional comprehensive treatment, and its clinical effect is also better than that of conventional comprehensive treatment. It shows that the use of modified Mackenzie therapy combined with acupuncture at Baliao acupoint can more quickly reduce the symptoms, clinical signs and dysfunction of patients with lumbar disc herniation, and provide enough confidence for patients to follow-up treatment. It also helps to improve patient compliance. The therapy encourages patients to actively participate in the treatment, and improves their enthusiasm and active participation in treatment. It can achieve good doctor-patient cooperation and is easy to be accepted by patients. The modified Mackenzie therapy combined with acupuncture at Baliao acupoint can provide a new treatment method and idea for the current conventional comprehensive treatment of lumbar disc herniation, which is beneficial to clinical management and improve the curative effect. It also lays the foundation for the next step of evidence-based medicine research. |
