| ObjectiveAntipsychotic drug(APD)is the main method to treat schizophrenia(SP).However,the influence on erectile function in men is a common side effect of APD,which can easily influence the life quality and drug compliance of SP patients.There are some problems,such as high cost and poor compliance in the current treatment methods for erectile dysfunction(ED).The purpose of this study was to observe the efficacy of Jieyu Xingyang Tang(JYXYT)in the treatment of antipsychotic erectile dysfunction in patients with SP and to explore the mechanism of JYXYT on man erectile function,so as to improve the erectile function of SP patients,improve the life quality of SP patients,and reduce the recurrence or aggravation of SP caused by drug withdrawal.MethodsAll patients in this study were recruited from the Affiliated Brain Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University.A total of 68 patients(5 of them were abscessed)meeting the criteria were collected from May 2020 to January 2021.On the basis of western medicine treatment,all patients were randomly divided into traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)group(JYXYT)and control group(no Chinese medicine).Finally,35 cases(include 3 cases of abscission)were in Chinese medicine group and 33 cases(include 2 cases of abscission)were in control group.After 4 weeks of treatment or control,observation was completed.Before and after treatment or control observation,all patients were evaluated with the International Index of Erectile Function-5(IIEF-5)and Nocturnal Erectile Function monitoring,Positive and Negative Symptom Scale,prepulse inhibition,thyroid function,and blood routine,biochemical(liver function,renal function,electrolyte,myocardial enzyme,blood lipid).The examination results were recorded into SPSS 23.0 software and the data were statistically analyzed by this software.P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Continuous variables subject to normal distribution were tested by t test or analysis of variance,while those not subject to normal distribution were tested by Mann-Whitney U or Wilcoxon test.The chi-square analysis method was used to analyze the correlation between different types of variables.Results1).There were no statistical difference in general information and SP symptoms between TCM and control group.2).There were no significant difference in the mean total score of IIEF-5 scale and the normal rate of IIEF-5 scale between these two groups.3).The difference of maximum nocturnal erection intensity before and after treatment in TCM group was greater than that in control group(16.74±24.12 vs.-9.65±31.40),and the difference was statistically significant.The rate of reaching the standard of maximum strength in the JYXYT group was higher than that in the control group(43.80%vs 19.40%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the maximum duration and total duration of a single dose in the JYXYT group were significantly longer than those in the control group(87.78±126.30 vs.85.47±87.79;216.95±144.81 vs.160.16±130.85).4).After treatment,the mean values of anti-thyroglobulin antibodies and thyroid peroxidase antibodies in the JYXYT group were significantly lower than those in the control group.ConclusionJYXYT can improve the erection intensity,erection time,and erection times of patients with ED caused by APD.JXYXT may promote erection by regulating antibodies against thyroglobulin and thyroid peroxidase. |
