| Objective To investigate the expressions of FOXM1 and PLK1 in cervical tissues of patients with cervical cancer, squamous intraepithelial lesion(SIL)and those in good conditions respectively, meanwhile explore the connections in these expressions linked with the clinical and pathological characteristics of patients diagnosed with cervical cancer. Moreover analyze the relationship between FOXM1 and PLK1 expressing levels in cervical cancer tissues, and determine their correlation to lay theoretical foundations for investigating the pathogenesis of cervical cancer. Methods A total of 134 pathologically confirmed cervix samples were collected in the Second People’s Hospital of Yichang during January 2015 to May 2018,which include 54 samples of cervical cancer,50 samples of SIL and 30 samples of benign cervical lesions tissues. The expressions of FOXM1 and PLK1 in all above cervical tissues were tested by means of immunohistochemistry.Relevant data were processed and analyzed using statistical software. Results 1.The positive expression rate of FOXM1 protein in cervical cancer tissues was 85.19%,higher than that in squamous intraepithelial lesions tissues(66.00%)and benign cervical lesions tissues(13.33%),and these differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);However there were no significant differences(P>0.05)in these positive expression rates of FOXM1 protein in tissues of patients with cervical cancer under various conditions such as different clinical stages, lymph node metastasis, vascular infiltration, the depth of myometrial invasion and histological grades.2.The positive expression rate of PLK1 protein in cervical cancer tissues was 92.59%,higher than that in squamous intraepithelial lesions tissues(72.00%)and benign cervical lesions tissues(10.00%),and these differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).While There were no significant differences(P>0.05)in these positive expression rates of PLK1 protein in tissues of patients with cervical cancer in various conditions such as different clinical stages, lymph node metastasis, vascular infiltration, the depth of myometrial invasion and histological grades.3.The positive expressions of FOXM1 and PLK1 proteins in cervical cancer tissues were positive correlate and the correlation coefficient value was 0.813(P<0.05).Conclusion 1.The positive expression rates of FOXM1 and PLK1 protein in benign cervical lesions,SIL and cervical cancer tissues increase successively. These statistical differences indicate that the two proteins may be involved in the development of benign cervical lesions to precancerous lesions and cervical cancer.Potentially, the detection of FOXM1 and PLK1 proteins in cervical lesions tissues could benefit the discovery of precancerous lesions and the diagnosis of cervical cancer.2.The expressions of FOXM1 and PLK1 in cervical cancer have nothing to do with the patients under different conditions such as clinical stages, lymph node metastasis, vascular infiltration, the depth of myometrial invasion and histological grades.3.There was a positive correlation between expressions of FOXM1 and PLK1 proteins in cervical cancer tissues, suggesting that an internal regulation relation may exist between FOXM1 and PLK1 expressions, but yet further researches are required to verify it. |
